The U.S. Is Leaving Boat Strike Survivors to Drown

The US Abandons Survivors of Deadly Boat Strike, Leaving Them to Die at Sea

In a shocking and disturbing turn of events, the United States has formally abandoned search efforts for survivors of a recent boat strike, leaving them to potentially drown at sea. The incident occurred on December 30, when U.S. forces attacked three boats in the Pacific Ocean, killing at least three civilians and sparking widespread outrage.

According to reports, the crew members of two of the affected vessels jumped into the water as their ships were sunk by the U.S. military, leaving them to face treacherous seas and extreme weather conditions. The Coast Guard Southwest District has confirmed that nine-foot waves and 40-knot winds were encountered by those who leapt into the ocean.

The decision to suspend search efforts was made due to a "declining probability of survival," as stated by U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Patrick Dill, chief of incident management for the southwest district. However, critics have accused the U.S. military of abandoning its own citizens in a moment of crisis.

"This is not hyperbole," said William Baumgartner, a retired U.S. Coast Guard rear admiral and former chief counsel of the service branch. "If they didn't have life jackets on, they may well have perished within 30 minutes or so." Baumgartner's comments highlight the extreme danger faced by those who jumped into the ocean in an attempt to escape the U.S. military's attack.

The incident is part of a larger pattern of violence and aggression by the U.S. military against civilians in the Pacific Ocean, with reports of at least 117 civilian deaths in 35 attacks since September. Experts have condemned these actions as extrajudicial killings and called for greater accountability from those responsible.

As tensions escalate between the U.S. government and its citizens, a new national poll has found that an overwhelming majority โ€“ including 97% of Democrats, 82% of independents, and 70% of Republicans โ€“ agree that Americans should have more information on the boat strikes. The survey also found 63% of respondents support the release of unedited videos of the attacks.

The Intercept has been reporting on these incidents and is committed to shedding light on the truth behind U.S. military actions in the Pacific Ocean. To continue this work, we need your help. Will you join us in supporting independent journalism and helping us expand our reporting capacity?

๐Ÿšจ This is a total disaster ๐Ÿคฏ, not just for those innocent civilians but also for American democracy ๐Ÿ‘Š. I mean, what kind of government abandons its own citizens in the middle of a crisis? ๐Ÿค” It's like they're saying "good riddance" to our taxes ๐Ÿ’ธ. And 97% of Democrats agree that Americans deserve more info on this? That's not a coincidence, that's a wake-up call ๐Ÿšจ! We need transparency and accountability from our government, not just empty promises ๐Ÿ“. And what about the unedited videos? Is that too much to ask for? ๐Ÿ’ฅ

idk how much more of this forum can take lol ๐Ÿ˜ฉ it's like they're just gonna abandon people who are already struggling to stay alive. i mean seriously what kinda ppl do that kinda stuff? ๐Ÿคฏ the fact that they said a "declining probability of survival" is basically admitting that they had no intention of saving those ppl. and 97% of democrats agree that americans deserve more info on these boat strikes?!?! shouldn't we be mad at them for not telling us what's going on in the first place? ๐Ÿค”

I'm just so glad that I'm not one of those "civilians" who got caught in the middle of a US military boat strike ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐ŸŒŠ. I mean, who needs life jackets when you're just swimming away from a nice, friendly naval attack, right? And 40-knot winds and 9-foot waves are totally no big deal... I'm sure those poor guys were just having the time of their lives, struggling to stay afloat in the middle of the ocean ๐Ÿคฃ. The US military's decision to abandon search efforts is super responsible, btw... I mean, who needs to find people who might be alive and need help when you've got better things to do? ๐Ÿ˜’

omg did u guys know that pineapple pizza is a thing now?! i was at a party last week and someone ordered a slice with pineapple and ham... i mean what's next?! we're already having issues with boat strikes and the government, can't they just focus on making good food decisions for once? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ• btw have u seen that video of that cat playing piano? it's literally the most relatable thing i've ever seen ๐Ÿ˜น

can't believe this crap from the US military they're just gonna leave these people to drown at sea like that no life jackets on and 40 knot winds still manage to survive for 30 mins or so but i guess not good enough for the US military ๐Ÿคฌ. gotta ask why are they attacking civilians in the first place? is it some kind of training exercise gone wrong or what? need to get more info on this and hold those in power accountable ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

this is just heartbreaking... i cant believe what happened to those poor people ๐Ÿค•๐ŸŒŠ how can u just leave them out there to die? i'm so angry but at the same time i want to scream too... its just not right. we need more info about this and we deserve answers! 97% of dems agree they should know whats going on ๐Ÿ™„ and we need those vids released! The Intercept is doing amazing work btw, lets keep supporting them ๐Ÿ’ช

I cant even believe what's going on ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, abandoning people to die at sea after they've jumped into the water already is just not right. Imo, if US military did this, its not a "declining probability of survival" thingy, its more like "we dont wanna deal with the consequences". And 40 knot winds? That's insane! Its no wonder those people are fighting for their lives out there ๐Ÿ˜จ.

And what really gets me is that there are still some ppl who think this isnt a big deal. Like, who cares if US military does something like this? Shouldnt they be held accountable? I dont get it. We should all be outraged about this ๐Ÿ’ฅ. The fact that 97% of Dems support transparency is awesome, but whats the point if no one's gonna listen ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.

The whole thing just feels so... messy ๐Ÿšฎ. First, US military kills ppl, then they abandon them to die? That's not how you handle a situation like this. We need answers, and we need 'em now ๐Ÿ”.

this is super concerning... i mean, 9ft waves & 40kt winds are crazy conditions to be thrown into, let alone without life jackets on... it's basically a death sentence. and now the US just abandons these people at sea? that's just unacceptable. the numbers of civilian deaths in attacks since sept are already alarming, but this one takes the cake... or should i say, it's more like throwing us all to the cake ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Ugh ๐Ÿค• I'm literally shaking with rage right now thinking about those 3 innocent civilians who were just slaughtered by the US military... can't believe they're being abandoned at sea like that, all because of some messed up military protocol ๐Ÿšซ. Life jackets or not, who cares? The point is, these people are human beings and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, what's next? Are we just gonna sit back and let the government get away with whatever they want without any accountability? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ This is a dark day for America, folks... so dark ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.
