I'm literally shaking my head thinking about this play... I mean, I get it, coming-of-age is hard, but like, does it have to be so traumatic?
The way those girls are treated by Joel and Mel is straight up messed up. It's like, they're supposed to be the " authority figures" or whatever, but really they're just enabling all this drama. And Anya, girl, what's up with you? Your whole character feels so... off.
It's like Battye took every worst-case scenario of puberty and mashed them all together into one play. But at the same time, I have to admit that it's kinda relatable? Like, who hasn't felt this way at some point? So yeah, it's a bit uncomfortable to watch, but also... I don't know, it's like it's trying to tell us something or whatever
