'The War Between the Land and the Sea' Is Off to a Soggy Start

I gotta say, I'm really disappointed with War Between the Land and the Sea so far 🤔. I mean, tackling climate change and environmental issues is important, but it feels like they're just scratching the surface (no pun intended). It's like they're trying to check off a box of "issues" without actually digging deep enough to make a real impact.

And don't even get me started on how much I'm missing the complexity of Doctor Who 🙅‍♂️. The way they've watered down UNIT and just made them this benevolent organization is so not believable. It's like they're avoiding the elephant in the room (again, no pun intended). If they really want to make a statement about our relationship with the environment, they need to be willing to get a little messy and uncomfortable.

I'm all for trying new things, but it feels like War Between is just phoning it in 📵. I hope they can find their footing (sorry, had to 😂) and actually deliver on what they're promising.

I'm kinda disappointed, you know? I mean, the idea of tackling climate change and environmental degradation is awesome 🌎💚, but it feels like they're just scratching the surface. It's like they're trying to check off all these boxes instead of really digging deep into the issues. And don't even get me started on how forced those Doctor Who references are 🙄... I mean, I love a good Whovian ref, but not in a show that's supposed to be its own thing. It feels like they're trying too hard to please everyone instead of just telling a story that means something. It's like they're stuck in neutral, you know?

I'm low-key disappointed in this BBC-Disney collab 🤔. I mean, climate change is super relevant right now, and it's awesome that they're tackling it, but I didn't expect to be underwhelmed by the whole thing 🤷‍♂️. The execution feels like it's still trying out its lines in front of a mirror - too much reliance on familiar Doctor Who vibes makes it feel awkward 😐. And don't even get me started on how they handled UNIT... what's up with portraying them as just benevolent? It's like they're glossing over some pretty heavy issues 💔. All in all, I'd say this show is stuck in a weird tone limbo 🔄. Still got time to fix it tho 👀

I'm so underwhelmed by this miniseries... I mean, I loved Doctor Who back when Christopher Eccleston was still playing the Ninth, it was like watching an old friend make appearances in your dreams 😴. But this War Between thing just doesn't feel right. It's like they're trying to cram too many ideas into one episode - remember that time we had 5+ episodes of a single storyline back in The Sontaran Stratagem? 🤔 At least then it felt more satisfying.

And don't even get me started on the environmental themes... I'm all for saving the planet, just like my grandma used to say when we were watching those old Planet Earth documentaries 🌿. But this series feels like a cheap attempt at relevance, you know? It's like they're saying "Hey look, we care about climate change!" without actually making any real changes or exploring it in-depth.

I guess I'm just holding out for something better... remember that time The Sarah Jane Adventures did a whole season on the dangers of alien invasions? Now that was quality storytelling 📺.
