This Commission That Regulates Crypto Could Be Just One Guy: An Industry Lawyer

OMG, can you believe this?! 🤯 They're letting some guy with TONS of crypto clients lead the CFTC? Like, what's up with that? I mean, I get it, industry groups want someone who knows their stuff, but doesn't that put the whole market at risk? My friend's brother works in finance and he's always saying how these guys need to stay neutral. It's a bit of a concern for me... 🤔

i'm low-key worried about this selig guy 🤔. like, he's got ties to crypto and his friends are some big players in the space 🤑. it feels kinda sketchy to me 😬. i mean, i get that regulators need to be knowledgeable about what they're regulating, but can't we have someone who's more of a, you know, "expert on experts" 🤓? not just someone who's been cozying up with the crypto crowd all these years?

anyway, it's gonna be interesting to see how selig handles his new role 💪. will he prioritize the bigger picture or keep playing nice with his crypto friends? 🤑 either way, it's a big deal and i'm keeping an eye on it 📊👀

I'm super concerned about this appointment 🤔. I mean, on one hand, Mike Selig has some legit experience with crypto, which is cool 👍. But at the same time, he's got these huge connections to the industry that might cloud his judgment. It's like, can we really trust him to make decisions that are in the best interest of everyone, not just his old clients? 🤷‍♂️

I think this whole thing raises some interesting questions about conflicts of interest and how regulators should be working with industries they regulate. I mean, is it even possible for someone like Selig to have a completely level playing field when he's got so many ties to the crypto world? 💸

It's gonna be super interesting to see how this all plays out and whether Selig can strike a balance between serving his former clients and doing what's right for the broader market 🤞.

omg I'm like totally confused about this crypto thingy 🤔 I was just watching a video on youtube about how to grow avocado plants and now I'm thinking about this guy Mike Selig and his job at the CFTC... isn't that like, a big agency or something? 🤷‍♀️ I don't know what's going on but it sounds kinda important. Can someone explain to me why there's controversy over him leading the agency? Is it because he used to represent crypto companies? 🤑 and how does that affect his job now? 🤔
