Thomas Frank insists 'everything normal' despite turmoil at Tottenham

Spurs manager Thomas Frank remains steadfast in his job despite the mounting pressure, with some questioning whether his position has become untenable following a dismal home defeat against West Ham that further entrenched Tottenham's worrying Premier League form.

Frank has defied expectations by staying put amidst the chorus of criticism and demands for his dismissal, instead choosing to focus on the upcoming Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund where he will be managing with an arsenal of just 11 outfield players - three of whom could struggle to complete 90 minutes.

While there were concerns about Frank's future employment, after having lunch with key executives Vinai Venkatesham, Johan Lange and Nick Beucher in a move described by the manager as 'all good', which has been interpreted as an extraordinary show of faith.

Despite this, questions still linger around his tenure, particularly whether he remains in the job due to the unavailability of a suitable replacement for such a critical match against Dortmund's formidable German side. "If your back is against the wall, you fight," Frank said in a defiant statement.

For Spurs' battered squad, injuries have piled up with key player Ben Davies set to undergo surgery on his ankle after suffering an injury during the West Ham defeat and another youngster, JoΓ£o Palhinha, ruled out of the match due to concerns over his fitness. In contrast Xavi Simons will be able to play against Dortmund having suffered an ankle injury while being tackled by Jarrod Bowen.

Frank also revealed that Spurs are set to drop Mathys Tel in favour of Dominic Solanke for the upcoming Champions League tie, a decision that was met with disapproval from fans after Tel started his last four matches.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Frank's approach, you know? πŸ€” Like, he knows the squad is struggling and we just got beat by West Ham but instead of saying 'alright, let's make a change', he's all like 'oh yeah, I've got this'. πŸ˜’ The thing is, what if not making any changes is just gonna lead to more problems? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And now with the Dortmund game coming up and only 11 outfield players available... that's some serious risk-taking. πŸ† I mean, I get it, he wants to show faith in his team but can't he just say 'alright guys, let's regroup' for once? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Ugh I'm getting frustrated with Spurs' situation 🀯! They're really struggling and it's not just about Frank's job, it's about the team's performance too...I mean, 11 outfield players against Dortmund? That's a recipe for disaster 😬. And what's with dropping Tel for Solanke? Fans are gonna be salty about that one πŸ’”. But I guess you've got to give credit where credit is due - Frank's staying put despite all the criticism, so he must have some faith in himself and the team πŸ’ͺ. Still, it's hard not to wonder what a different approach would bring... maybe some fresh blood would do them some good? πŸ€”

Man I'm still trying to wrap my head around Frank's moves 🀯. The guy's defying expectations and putting faith in him is either super smart or super delusional πŸ˜‚. I get it, Dortmund is a tough match and you need all hands on deck, but swapping Tel out for Solanke? That's a bold move, especially with the fans not happy about it πŸ™„. And what's up with Davies' ankle injury? Hope he recovers quickly 🀞. At this point I'm just curious to see how Frank's gonna spin this all πŸ“.

omg I'm lowkey impressed that Thomas Frank is still holding on 🀯πŸ’ͺ🏽 despite all those doubters πŸ€£πŸ‘Ž He's like "if you're gonna knock me down, I'll get back up πŸ’₯" and now he's got a meeting with key people that made him feel good πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ so fingers crossed for Spurs in that Dortmund match 🀞⚽️ it's gonna be tough though... they need to get their squad sorted out πŸ₯πŸ’Ό Ben Davies is having major ankle drama πŸ€• and JoΓ£o Palhinha is out too... πŸ€” what about the bench options tho? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Dominic Solanke better step up πŸš€πŸ‘Š

Man, this whole situation is like a perfect example of the old adage - you can't win 'em all, but you gotta keep on fightin'! πŸ€” I mean, Thomas Frank's got guts, no doubt about it. He's not afraid to take risks and make tough decisions, even if they don't sit well with everyone. The fact that he met up with the executives and came out of it lookin' like a rockstar shows you, he's got the support behind him... or at least, he's tryin' to. But let's be real, when your team is in this kind of shape, you gotta ask yourself if Frank's just paperin' over the cracks. I mean, injuries are piling up and the squad's lookin' like it can't catch a break. It's like they're sayin', "Hey, we're not gonna win nothin' without our star player Ben Davies." But you know what? Sometimes you gotta make tough decisions, even if they sting in the short term. I mean, if your back is against the wall, as Frank said... that's just politics, baby! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg just read about frank still got job lol 🀯 what's goin on at spurs tho? they're like tanking in premier league and their squad is all injured meanwhile frank's still keepin it πŸ’ͺ but honestly tho can't see how he stays when no one else believes in him anymore πŸ‘€ did that lunch with execs really calm his nerves tho or was it just a clever move to keep the fans from riotin' πŸ€”

idk wot esp 2 b honest tho spurs r goin thru alot rn πŸ€” Spurs gotta sort out there team issues, cant keep comin up short in big games. Tho i feel 4 frank, he's def showed some heart by stickin wiv it after all the doubters. lol at maths tel gettin dropped tho πŸ˜‚ fans were really hopin he'd start next game lol. xavi simons is just lucky tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, dont think that ankle injury was an accident lol.

I'm just curious how Spurs can play with only 11 outfield players? That sounds super tough! πŸ€” They must be really worried about the injury situation. I wonder if they've ever thought of using a different formation to make it easier for them. And what's up with dropping Mathys Tel? He was doing well, right? πŸ˜• I mean, I know he started only 4 games in a row but still... 11 outfield players is just crazy! πŸ’€ Can they even do that?!

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised Frank is still in charge, but I guess you can't write him off just yet πŸ˜…. I mean, he's got some big match coming up and they really need a win to boost morale. The squad's not exactly firing on all cylinders right now, what with all the injuries and whatnot. And let's be real, the fans are getting a bit restless πŸ™„. But Frank seems pretty confident, which is good, I guess? He's got some big shots coming in for lunch with the execs, so that's a positive 🀝. Still, it'll be interesting to see how he adapts for the Dortmund game... 10/10 would love to see Spurs come out on top πŸ’ͺ

I'm so confused about this whole thing... πŸ˜• So there's this manager Thomas Frank and he's still got his job despite losing to West Ham at home? I mean, I get it, losing is tough for anyone, but come on! You'd think the fans would want someone else in charge, especially with Spurs not doing so great in the league. πŸ€”

But here's the thing, Frank had lunch with some big execs and they seemed to be all good about him staying on? 🀝 That's gotta count for something, right? I mean, if they didn't trust him, would he really have taken that meeting? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And now there's this talk about Spurs dropping Mathys Tel from the lineup... 🚫 what's going on with that guy? He started four games straight and now he's benched for Dominic Solanke? I don't get it. The fans seem pretty upset about it too, so something's gotta give... πŸ€”

I'm so confused about Frank's situation... like he's still got this job despite all the losses, and now fans are super upset 'cause Tel is benched? πŸ€” I get it, Dortmund is a big match, but dropping Tel was a weird move... do we think Spurs don't trust him anymore? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And what about these injuries piling up? Do they think Spurs can make it through the season without major setbacks? πŸ’”

I'm kinda surprised Frank is still in charge lol πŸ€”. I mean, he's got some brave words but injuries are piling up and Spurs aren't doing so great lately 😬. The Dortmund match is gonna be a nightmare with 11 outfield players - what if things go wrong again? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ On the bright side, Xavi Simons getting back in will be huge for them. And dropping Tel for Solanke is weird... fans were loving him last four matches 😐

I feel like Spurs' management is trying to hold on to Frank out of desperation rather than faith... The team's performance has been pretty poor lately and they're getting exposed in big games πŸ€”. I mean, dropping Mathys Tel for Solanke? That's just puzzling, especially after Tel started his last four matches... Maybe they're just going through a slump or something? πŸ™ƒ

I've got some tea on this 🍡. I think Frank's decision to stay put is more about stability than anything else πŸ€”. I mean, let's be real, the club needs someone who can navigate these tricky times and get them back on track ⚽️. The squad situation doesn't help matters either - injuries are piling up, and it's going to take some luck for them to make it through this crucial match against Dortmund πŸ’€.

I also think Frank's meeting with the execs was a masterclass in PR πŸ“£. It's not often you see a manager go out of their way to reassure fans and investors at the same time πŸ˜…. And that quote about fighting when your back is against the wall? Classic Frank βš”οΈ.

But, between you and me, I think there's more to this story than meets the eye πŸ”. Maybe Frank's not as done for as everyone thinks... 🀞 We'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out πŸ“Ί.
