I'm gonna say it, but I don't care what people think

... the Titanic archive auction might be a bit overhyped. I mean, $100k+ for some old papers? That's just insane

. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty cool to have a piece of history, but let's keep things in perspective, right? It's just paper and ink on a piece of paper

. I'd rather see the money go towards preserving actual historical artifacts, you know, the ones that are worth something

And what's with the anonymity of the owner? Can't they be proud to share their family's history? It's like they're trying to avoid some kind of curse or something

. Seriously though, I think it's time we start valuing our own stories and histories over just buying up old stuff

Still, I guess it's cool that people are getting excited about this... and who knows, maybe the buyer will be a history buff who actually appreciates the significance of the archive
