Titans set to give Robert Saleh second chance as head coach after failed Jets tenure

Robert Saleh is set to return to the NFL head coaching ranks after being hired by the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple reports. The former Jets coach and current 49ers defensive coordinator was a top finalist for the vacant head coaching position in Music City, and his hiring brings an end to another coaching search.

The move gives Saleh a second chance at leading an NFL team, having previously spent three-plus seasons as the Jets' head coach with a record of just 20-36. His tenure in New York was marked by controversy and upheaval, but he will now have the opportunity to re-establish himself in front of a new fan base.

As part of his deal with the Titans, Saleh is expected to remain involved on defense, a role that brought him significant success during his time as 49ers defensive coordinator. However, there were reports that he had expressed regret over not being able to call more plays during his previous stint in New York.

Saleh's hiring also marks a notable development for the Titans, who have the No. 1 overall pick and are projected to have $100 million in cap space. The team's search for a new head coach was widely seen as a priority, and they appear to have found a candidate who can bring stability and leadership to their organization.

While details of Saleh's contract remain unclear, reports suggest that he and the Titans were able to come to an agreement after a productive meeting between the two parties. The deal gives Saleh another chance to prove himself in the NFL and will likely be closely watched by fans and analysts alike.

🤔 I think this is a great move for the Titans, they really needed someone with experience like Robert Saleh... but at the same time, he did have a pretty rough run as head coach of the Jets 🙈. And isn't it weird that the team's biggest priority was finding stability and leadership? shouldn't that be what they're looking for in their next coach anyway? 😅 also 100 million in cap space is insane, but I guess you gotta pay top dollar to attract a good coach... unless he's gonna have some major meltdowns like his previous stint did 🤷‍♂️.

can't say i'm surprised tbh 🤷‍♂️ the titans need someone to turn their ship around and saleh's defensive expertise is a good start. still gotta wonder how he'll handle the coaching responsibilities tho 😬 his past stint in new york was... eventful, let's just say. at least now he gets to rebrand himself as "stable" coach 🙃

just saw this news and i gotta say, saleh gets another shot at leading an nfl team... think he's gonna make more of it this time around 🤔. all those years as jets coach was rough, but being 49ers DC seemed to work out for him. now, with the titans, he's got a decent chance at building some stability and winning games 💪. that 1st round pick is gonna be crucial, though. gotta wonder if he'll finally get to call more plays 🤓

Aw man, it sounds like Robert Saleh is getting another shot at proving himself as a coach 🤔💼 I feel bad for him after his last stint in New York was super rocky. It's not easy to bounce back from that kind of controversy, but it's awesome that he got the chance to redeem himself with the Titans 💪. They're definitely a team on the rise, especially with that top pick and all that cap space 🤑. Fingers crossed Saleh can bring some stability and lead them to victory this season! 🏈👍
