US Presidential Delegation to Head to Milan for 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony, Led by Vice President Pence and Wife

President Trump announced on Saturday that a high-profile delegation will be traveling to Italy in February to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. The group, which includes Vice President JD Vance and his wife, as well as several other prominent figures from various fields, will arrive in Milan on February 5 for the event scheduled to take place on February 6.

Vice President Pence, accompanied by his wife, will be joined at the games by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Ambassador to Italy Tilman Feritta, Olympic medalist Monique Lamoureux-Morando, and several other notable athletes. Short Track Speed Skating gold medalists Evan Lysacek and 2018 World Championship winner Maxim Naumov are among those participating in the games.

Figure skater Alysa Liu will also be attending the event, having made a surprise return to competition after announcing her retirement from the sport at just 16 years old. The 2026 Olympics, scheduled to run through February 22, feature a range of sports including bobsledding, skiing, and figure skating.

President Trump's announcement comes ahead of the games, which promise to showcase some of the world's top athletes competing in various disciplines.
