President Donald Trump claimed on Thursday that Iranian leaders want to engage in talks and are "ready to talk" as he rolled out his new Board of Peace initiative during a ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This move comes amid weeks-long demonstrations in Iran that have rocked the Islamic Republic.
Trump's comments about Iran follow recent public calls for new leadership in the country, with him accusing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of "the complete destruction of the country and the use of violence at levels never seen before." Trump has also warned that if Iranian forces were to begin killing protesters indiscriminately, the US would be "locked and loaded and ready to go."

It's heartbreaking! The numbers are staggering: over 3,500 protesters have been injured and more than 10,000 people arrested... just in one month! 
The Iranian government has also been accused of mistreating prisoners, including hanging 11 protesters after the death sentence was ratified by Supreme Leader Khamenei.
Have you seen the stats on how many people have died in Iran since the protests began? 
4.6 million people are living below the poverty line, and unemployment rates are through the roof! 
It's time for real change, not just empty promises.

. And now this Board of Peace initiative thingy... I'm not sure how that's gonna help anything, but hey, at least it sounds good in theory

but seriously its about time he took a step back and tried to find a peaceful solution, esp since all those protesters got killed

. And what about all the lives lost already? How can you just gloss over that? It's not like this is some diplomatic move where everyone starts with a clean slate, people have real problems in Iran. Trump thinks a board is gonna magically fix everything? 
It sounds kinda vague. And can we really believe that Iran's leaders are "ready to talk" when they've been cracking down on protests for weeks? 
Whatever it is, I hope the situation in Iran gets resolved soon and people can start living without all this fear and uncertainty

. Sometimes, just talking things through can be more effective than trying to muscle our way into resolving conflicts. It's not always easy to see which approach will work in every situation, but I reckon that's what makes life so interesting and unpredictable
