Trump points to Insurrection Act in response to Minneapolis protests - Detroit Metro Times

I'm getting chills thinking about this, it's like something outta The Hunger Games 💀👮‍♂️ Trump is really going for the nuclear option here, and I don't know if he thinks through the consequences... Minnesota is already dealing with a lot, and now you're adding in federal troops? That's just gonna escalate things. And 2,500 arrests since November? That's a whole lotta people getting detained just because they're exercising their right to free speech and protest. I feel bad for Renee Good's family too, it's crazy that she lost her life over immigration enforcement... this country needs some serious soul-searching 💔

Ugh, this is getting super messed up 🤯. Like, I get that the shooting was super tragic, but threatening to deploy federal troops under the Insurrection Act? That's just a huge overreach of power 🙄. I mean, what even is the point of invoking that rarely used law? Are they really gonna send in tanks and start cracking down on peaceful protesters? It's like, calm down, dude, and work with local officials to address the issue, you know? The fact that it's five times larger than their own police department in Minneapolis is wild 💥. And 2,500 arrests since November 29th? That's just insane 🤯. I feel bad for the people of Minnesota and Detroit who are getting caught up in all this. Can't we just talk about the issues without resorting to military force? 😔
