TV tonight: Mackenzie Crook's lovely new supernatural sitcom

BBC Two has just broadcasted the first episode of Mackenzie Crook's new supernatural sitcom, "Small Prophets", and it's clear that this show is going to be an oddball's delight. The programme follows Michael (Pearce Quigley), a man who resembles Miss Havisham but with a beard, living in his partner's house seven years after they parted ways without returning. His dad, Brian (Michael Palin), resides in a care home and shares that he knows how to find answers to Michael's problems – including conjuring up tiny humans using alchemy.

On Channel 4, Jamie Oliver invites viewers into his kitchen for another culinary spin-off, "Jamie's Feasts for a Fiver", with the week's menu featuring a twist on the classic raspberry jam treacle tart. The show is accompanied by Jamie's cooking of toad in the hole and Patricia Chung sharing her crunchy fish noodle soup.

BBC One will air the two-part episode of "Silent Witness". An open house for an estate agent goes catastrophically wrong, prompting Nikki (Emilia Fox) and Jack (David Caves), the crime scene investigation duo, to take on a new case in this new city. As they delve deeper into the murder mystery, racial undertones come into play.

Channel 4 will broadcast "Guy Martin's House Without Bills". In this programme, Guy visits two homes in Greater Manchester with innovative energy-saving features – insulation, draught-proofing, and heat pumps – showcasing alternative solutions to curb usage. Additionally, a factory producing eco-friendly flatpack houses is featured.

Finally, Sky Atlantic has the episode of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". The revelation that Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) is a Targaryen proves to be little help as he attempts to escape his predicament – and it becomes clear he will have to rely on other characters for assistance.

🤔 I'm kinda excited about "Small Prophets" - it sounds like it's gonna be really weird & wonderful, but also kinda dark? The alchemy thing with tiny humans is straight outta a Tim Burton film 🎃. On the other hand, Jamie Oliver's cooking show seems pretty chill, especially if you're into that sorta thing 😊. And can we talk about Patricia Chung's fish noodle soup - I'm totally trying that out this weekend! 👌

Just watched Mackenzie Crook's "Small Prophets" on BBC Two and I'm completely stumped 🤯. The show is so quirky and offbeat, but in a good way? 😊 Michael Quigley's character is like something out of a dream (or nightmare?) - his house is this crazy shrine to his ex, and the tiny humans he conjures up are just mind-blowing. I loved how it pokes fun at our expectations of family dynamics too. As a parent, it's fascinating to see how the writers play with traditional roles and relationships 🤔.

um I just watched "Small Prophets" on BBC Two 📺 and I'm totally confused what's going on with the guy and his dad who knows all about alchemy ⚗️ I mean, tiny humans? what's up with that? 😂 I like Jamie Oliver though, he always makes food look so yummy 🍴 can anyone tell me how to make a treacle tart from scratch tho? 🤔

OMG, I'm low-key obsessed with this new "Small Prophets" show 🤣! I mean, who wouldn't wanna watch a supernatural sitcom with alchemy and tiny humans? 😂 Pearce Quigley is already giving me all the charm and quirkiness vibes, and I need more of that in my life! 🙌 The BBC Two lineup just got so much better with this show...and Jamie Oliver's kitchen skills are still goals 🍳💪

🤔 think its weird how theyre all comin out with this new supernatural stuff, like its goin back to the 90s or somethin 📺 small prophets sounds like a trip tho 👀 but i dont know if im sold on it yet. mackenzie crook was good in the office though so thats some comfort 😊

🤔 just watched the new Mackenzie Crook show "Small Prophets" 📺 on BBC Two and I'm OBSESSED 😍 the main character is so quirky and lovable 👻 and that alchemy thingy sounds like a wild ride 🔮🧙‍♂️ would def give it a try if I was feeling weirdly adventurous 🎉 and also, Jamie Oliver's cooking show "Jamie's Feasts for a Fiver" 👨‍🍳 is always on point 🤤 can't wait to whip up some raspberry jam treacle tart 🍰 in my kitchen 🏠

I'm soooo stoked about Mackenzie Crook's new show "Small Prophets" ! 🤪 The idea of tiny humans conjured up using alchemy is like, totally trippy , I need to watch the whole season ASAP . But what really got me was how they handled the racial undertones in the "Silent Witness" episode - it's like, super mature and realistic . BBC Two should be proud of themselves for tackling tough topics like that . And can we talk about Jamie Oliver's new show? I mean, who doesn't love a good treacle tart? 🍰 The way he breaks down cooking into simple, affordable meals is genius. I'm definitely gonna check out "Guy Martin's House Without Bills" - all about eco-friendly homes and stuff , that sounds so on trend for 2025 . And finally, I'm intrigued by the new episode of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" , especially with Egg being a Targaryen . This is shaping up to be an epic year for TV shows 📺

I'm so done with these supernatural shows 😒. I mean, who needs tiny humans conjured up by alchemy? It's just a bunch of hooey! Give me something real, like Jamie Oliver trying to cook toad in the hole without setting off the fire alarm 🚒. At least that's relatable. And don't even get me started on the BBC's "Small Prophets" – it sounds like a mess of a show with too many weird characters and plotlines 🤯. I'll stick to my normal TV shows, thank you very much! 👎

🤔 I gotta say, some of these shows sound super weird 🎉 but in a good way? Like, who wouldn't want to watch Jamie Oliver cook toad in the hole or Patricia Chung share her fish noodle soup? 🍲👌 But, for real tho, can we talk about "Small Prophets" for a sec? 🤓 The idea of this guy conjuring up tiny humans with alchemy is lowkey fascinating 🔮. I'm all about that weird and wacky TV life 😂.

omg what's up with brian in this show Small Prophets lol sounds like a wild ride 🤣 i'm intrigued by the tiny humans tho, alchemy is so cool 💫

and omg Jamie Oliver is cooking again 🍴 toad in the hole is my fave! but patricia chung's soup looks super healthy too 🥗

i feel for Nikki and Jack on Silent Witness though, those racial undertones can be super uncomfortable 😬 hope they figure out that case soon

i'm so down for Guy Martin's House Without Bills 🏠 energy-efficient homes are the way to go btw

and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has me curious about Egg's story now 👑 what does it mean to be a Targaryen? 🔥

omg what's next? first off, i'm loving the fact that channel 4 has another jamie oliver show 🤣 but like, a spin-off of a cooking show? isn't that just more cooking 🍳👎

i did watch small prophets and it was actually kinda weird in a good way 🤔 mackenzie crook's style is always so unique and quirky, and this show seems to be no exception. the alchemy bit though? lol what even is that? sounds like some random fantasy nonsense 🔮👀

i'm intrigued by silent witness tho, especially since it touches on racial undertones 🤝 we need more stories that tackle these kinds of issues in a thoughtful way. also, emilia fox looks familiar... isn't she from some other show? 🤔

anyway, back to jammie oliver's latest mess... i mean, feasts for a fiver is just another name for "jammie tries to make food without breaking the bank"... how original 😂

lastly, house without bills sounds like something my aunt would watch... anyway, it's good that guy martin is highlighting some eco-friendly solutions 🌎 keep pushing those ideas, dude! 👍

I'm still waiting for more info about "Small Prophets" 🤔, but Mackenzie Crook's style is so unique I'm already intrigued 😊. It reminds me of that old British sitcom "Fawlty Towers", where a character would just get themselves into the most absurd situations... and now it sounds like Michael Quigley's character might have some dark magic going on 🧙‍♂️? Anyway, hope it lives up to his "Blackadder" days 💪.

I'm loving the mix of shows coming out! 🤩 But, I gotta fact-check some stuff... So, Jamie Oliver's "Feasts for a Fiver" has been airing since 2013, right? 😅 I just checked and there were actually like, 6 series before that one started. Also, Guy Martin's "House Without Bills" didn't just start this week... 📺 The first episode was in 2021! And on the BBC One side, I couldn't find any info about an open house for an estate agent being the reason Nikki and Jack get a new case... 🤔

I just watched this new supernatural sitcom "Small Prophets" on BBC Two 📺, reminded me of the old X-Files days when Mulder and Scully used to investigate all sorts of weird cases 😂. This show's got a similar vibe, but with more... peculiar characters I guess? Like that guy Michael who lives in his partner's house still after 7 years apart, I mean, what's up with that? Anyway, it seems like this show is gonna be one of those things you'll either love or hate – kinda like The IT Crowd 🤪. And Jamie Oliver's new cooking show on Channel 4 sounds alright, but I'm more of a Nigella fan myself...

You know what's weird? I was just eating my breakfast cereal the other day, and I realized that they must've changed the recipe or something because the flakes were so crunchy! I mean, who makes their own cereal flake? It's like they're trying to give you a stomachache. And have you ever noticed how some cereals are just better than others? Like, my fave is still Corn Flakes, but only if it's not too soggy. Ugh, soggy Corn Flakes...

man, i'm so down for "Small Prophets" 🤣 sounds like the perfect weirdo show! mackenzie crook is a genius 🤓 and that concept of conjuring tiny humans with alchemy? game changer 👻💫 gotta check out jamie oliver's new cooking show too 🍳😋 toad in the hole, yeah! 👌 what's up with "Silent Witness" though? sounds like they're tackling some heavy stuff...racial undertones and all that 🤔 need to watch "Guy Martin's House Without Bills" next tho ⚡️ energy-saving features are so important 🌎🏠

🤔 I'm so over these new supernatural shows... don't get me wrong, Mackenzie Crook's "Small Prophets" looks like a right ol' mess, but in a weird way, that's what I love about it! The concept of tiny humans conjured up with alchemy is just too quirky for my taste. Give me something a bit more down-to-earth like Jamie Oliver's cooking show any day 🍳👨‍🍳. At least he can make a decent treacle tart, you know? And have you seen the latest episode of "Silent Witness"? I mean, racial undertones in a murder mystery? That's just too serious for my evening TV. Give me something light-hearted like Guy Martin's energy-saving show 🏠💡... that's the kind of stuff that puts a smile on my face.

idk why ppl r so obsessed w/ shows like this its all just a bunch of weirdos & dead people 🤷‍♂️ i mean, small prophets sounds kinda funny i guess but whats the point w/ it? is it supposed 2 b funny? 🤔 anyway, jamie olivers cooking show is alright idk what its about w/ the toad in the hole tho lol
