Two-time All-Star reliever, former Astros player Ryan Pressly announces his retirement

Former MLB Star Ryan Pressly Announces Shocking Retirement After 13-Year Career.

Ryan Pressly, a two-time All-Star reliever who played for the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs, has announced his retirement from professional baseball after a remarkable 13-year career. The 37-year-old pitcher had collected an impressive 117 saves during his time in the league, helping the Astros win the 2022 World Series.

"It's bittersweet, but what a ride it's been," Pressly said in a statement announcing his retirement. The veteran pitcher expressed gratitude to fans and teammates for their support throughout his career.

Pressly's impressive resume includes two saves and just one unearned run over 5 2/3 innings in the Astros' World Series victory against the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022. He also recorded six saves and allowed only one unearned run over 11 innings during Houston's 2022 postseason run.

During his 13-year career, Pressly was 37-39 with a 3.33 ERA and struck out 721 batters in 691 1/3 innings. The pitcher made All-Star teams with the Astros in both 2019 and 2021.

Pressly's decision to retire marks the end of an era for the Astros, who will miss his experienced presence on the mound. However, he leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by fans and fellow players alike.

As Pressly embarks on the next chapter of his life, fans can look back on his impressive career and celebrate the memories made on the field.

πŸ€” I'm really gonna miss watching Ryan Pressly pitch live. 13 years is a long time and he's done so much for his teams. I think its great that he got to experience all those playoff games with the Cubs and Astros, especially winning that World Series in 2022 πŸ†. His stats are insane, I mean 117 saves is crazy! πŸ™ I cant believe its over already, i mean 13 yrs is a long time, but at the same time its crazy to think he's been saving games for us since he was 24 lol 🀣. Pressly's numbers are insane, i mean 3.33 ERA and 721 Ks is something to be proud of. I remember when he first came up with the Astros in 2012, hes been a key guy for them ever since. He may not have had the biggest arm or the most velocity, but he always made up for it with his cleverness on the mound. πŸ€”

I'm gonna miss watching him pitch, especially during those high-pressure games when everyone else is struggling and hes just getting the job done. The Astros are gonna be okay without him, but its still sad to see him go πŸŒƒ. I hope he enjoys whatever comes next, maybe theres a chance for him to stay involved in baseball somehow? 🀞

What's your fave Ryan Pressly memory? Was it during his World Series win or one of his All-Star appearances? πŸ€”

🀯 can't believe it's really over for Pressly already feels like yesterday he was making highlight reel saves for the Astros πŸŽ₯ 117 saves in 13 years is insane, the guy was a master of closing games out πŸ”’ his presence on that mound will be missed by fans and teammates alike πŸ’” but we're so grateful for the memories, who's gonna be able to fill his shoes? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
