UMG and Udio Reach Agreement for ‘New Licensed AI Music Creation Platform’

so they're making uadio pay off this huge lawsuit but also getting paid off for training an ai model? it sounds like a win-win... or is there more to this than meets the eye? 🤑 why aren't we seeing all the financials on this deal? and what's with the "healthy commercial AI ecosystem" vibe? just trying to spin this as a positive for artists when really isn't it just gonna make uadio richer? 💸

I'm not sure how this is going to end well... like, think about it, these AI models are already super powerful, now UMG is basically giving them access to all their music catalogs? That's just begging for some major headaches down the line. And what's with the "compensatory legal settlement" thing? Sounds like they're paying off someone rather than actually doing something right. I mean, can't we just wait and see how this whole AI-generated music thing plays out before we start celebrating?

🤔 so like this makes total sense... Udio getting licensed from UMG means they have permission to use those songs right? But at the same time, they're supposed to reward UMG artists & songwriters for letting them do that? That sounds fishy to me 🐟 it's like saying "you let us use your stuff, now we'll give you a little something" doesn't sound right.

UMG is finally playing catch-up on AI music - it's about time they got on board 🤖. This collab could be a game-changer for artists, but we'll have to wait and see if Udio's AI model can create something truly special 🎵👀

🤔 I'm not sure if this is a good thing for the music industry... like, isn't an AI model just gonna take all the cool stuff that humans come up with and make it sound like nothing's new? And what about all those artists who are already struggling to get paid properly? Now they're just gonna be rewarded for training some algorithm? That doesn't seem right 🤑. I need more info on how this is supposed to work before I start getting hyped...
