US schools face big price swings for basics under Amazon's 'dynamic pricing', report claims

Ugh 🤯, this is just ridiculous! I mean, who pays $5.7 million for a red Swingline stapler?! That's just insane 😂. And they could've saved around a mil if they negotiated better with Amazon? Come on! It's not that hard to get a good deal when you're dealing with a company like Amazon.

I'm so sick of these big corporations using their algorithms to screw over small businesses and governments. Like, what's the point of having dynamic pricing if it just ends up being some giant game of musical chairs where one person wins and everyone else gets left holding the bag? 🤑

And don't even get me started on Amazon Business. It sounds like a total scam to me. They're basically saying "hey, we'll let you browse our products, but don't bother trying to negotiate prices with us, 'cause we've got this whole thing figured out." 😒

I mean come on 🤯, how do schools and cities even think they can outsmart Amazon's dynamic pricing model? I got a friend who works for Denver's school district and she's telling me that they're basically getting robbed blind 💸. $5.7 million for basic supplies like staplers and whatnot? It's insane! They could have saved so much money if they just used their common sense and negotiated with Amazon. And don't even get me started on the algorithmic pricing model 🤖, it's like they're playing some kind of game where the only winner is Amazon.

I'm not surprised that Amazon has convinced them to abandon competitive bidding and just go with the flow 🙄. It's like they're saying "Hey, we've got a fancy platform, trust us, you'll save money" 💸 but really it's just a way for Amazon to make more money off of unsuspecting cities and schools.

This whole thing is just a mess, I don't know how much more of this I can take 😩. Can't we just have some transparency and fairness in our procurement processes? Is that too much to ask? 🤷‍♀️
