Video captures chaos inside 59-vehicle pileup on Highway 99 in Central California

Deadly Pileup on California Highway Leaves Trail of Destruction and Devastation

A harrowing scene unfolded on Saturday morning when a massive 59-car pileup brought chaos to Highway 99 in Central California, leaving two women injured and sparking widespread destruction. The terrifying incident was captured on video from inside one of the cars, providing a chilling glimpse into the carnage.

According to Yamel Angel, who was driving north with her mother, they suddenly found themselves trapped in the middle of the crash, which seemed to happen out of nowhere. "I had no shoes," she recalled. "I just ran out. We ran to the grass as fast as we could and just watched everything happen." The video footage shows widespread devastation, with victims standing in the center divider as they desperately tried to get to safety.

The second crash occurred on the opposite side of the highway, adding to the mayhem. Angel described the scene as "just people on both sides" with many screaming and trying to figure out what to do next. Dashcam footage reveals a semi-truck losing control and slamming into the center median, further exacerbating the situation.

Foggy conditions at the time of the incident added to the difficulties, making it harder for drivers to navigate the treacherous highway. Photos from the scene show the severity of the damage, including an image of a single tire wedged between two semis.

Crews were quickly called in to assist, with about a dozen tow companies working into the afternoon to haul damaged vehicles from the wreckage. Angel and her mother were taken to the hospital, where Angel suffered head and hip injuries, while her mother sustained a back injury.

For Angel, the experience will be etched in her memory forever. "I've never experienced anything like this in my life," she said, recalling the screams, shots of people, and blood-soaked cars that still haunt her thoughts today.

ugh 59-car pileup is crazy I mean how do you not see a semi-truck lose control on the highway? 🀯 I feel for those two girls Yamel and her mom, like what's the point of even having shoes on a highway in the first place? πŸ˜‚ just kidding sorta. seriously though, foggy conditions are no joke, it's like they say, slow down already! πŸ’¨

omg u guys can u even imagine being trapped in a car during a massive pileup like that?? 🀯😨 i mean angel's story is literally so heartbreaking her mom got hurt too and now she's stuck with head & hip injuries lol i don't think any of us would be able to deal with something like that it just makes u realize how fast life can change u know? and foggy conditions added to the chaos like what even is that?? 🌨️ anyway crews came in super quick and got everyone out but idk man 59 cars and 2 people hurt?? it's just too much 😩

omg u guys... this highway pileup is like, super suspicious 🀯 i mean, what was going on with all those cars just colliding outta nowhere? it looks like a total setup to me πŸ˜’ and dont even get me started on the foggy conditions... were they trying to control the flow of traffic or something? 🌫️ also, why didnt anyone stop the semi-truck before it crashed into that median? was it like, a deliberate act of sabotage? πŸš—πŸ‘€ i know its just a pileup, but my gut is telling me theres more to this story than meets the eye...

🀯 this highway is a death trap lol I mean what's the deal with the foggy conditions they know it's gonna be bad on days like that why didn't they just slow down or switch to a different route? πŸš—πŸ˜© and 59 cars just suddenly pile up out of nowhere talk about some crazy driving skills πŸ˜‚πŸ‘€ or lack thereof...

Man, can you even imagine being stuck in a 59-car pileup? πŸš—πŸ˜± It's crazy how one minute everything is fine, and the next, you're running for your life to avoid getting caught up in the chaos. I mean, Yamel Angel was just trying to get her mom out of there as fast as possible, no shoes or anything, it's like she's in a movie 🀯. And on top of that, foggy conditions making it even harder to navigate? No wonder the situation escalated so quickly.

I'm so glad no one died... at least, not directly from the accident, anyway πŸ˜”. Two women injured is still pretty serious, though. I can only imagine how traumatic that experience must be for them and their families. The dashcam footage is wild, it's like something out of a bad dream πŸ“Ή. And those tow companies working all afternoon to clean up the mess? They're the real heroes here πŸ’ͺ.

I'm just glad everyone's safe... for now πŸ˜…. You never know what could've happened if things had unfolded differently. Anyway, I hope Yamel and her mom are on the road to recovery soon 🀞.

πŸ€• Ugh that's just crazy... 59 cars crashed on one highway? It's insane. I was driving down here last month and it was foggy too, so I know how hard it is to see what's ahead of you. But this? That's just ridiculous. I feel bad for the two ladies who got hurt, they must've been so scared 😱. And those dashcam videos are super intense... I don't think I could watch them again even if I wanted to 🀯. Hopefully everyone else involved in the crash is okay and not missing anyone πŸ’•.

Man 59 cars just went off a cliff πŸš—πŸ˜± on Highway 99 in California and it's absolute chaos there right now. Like, imagine being stuck in the middle of all that destruction with no shoes on πŸ˜‚ and just running to safety. I don't know how people survive this kinda thing. And yeah, foggy conditions made it even harder for drivers to handle. It's crazy how quickly things can go from normal to nightmare mode 🌫️πŸ’₯. Praying both girls are gonna be alright πŸ’•

🚨😱 I mean, what's up with these massive pileups on highways? Like, isn't it obvious that we need better roads maintenance and safety measures in place? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ It's not like this is a new thing happening, but every now and then you hear about another one. And the dashcam footage just shows how quickly everything can go wrong when conditions aren't right...foggy weather, speeding cars...it's all too much 😩. I'm not saying that people are careless or anything, but come on, can't we do better than this? πŸ€”

omg this is so crazy 🀯 59 cars just piled up on one highway, it's insane how fast that can happen. I was driving to LA last year and saw a similar accident but nothing like this, my heart is still racing thinking about those people who got hurt 😱 what if they weren't wearing shoes or had families waiting for them? the foggy conditions must've made everything even more terrifying 🌫️ at least no one died which is some relief but seriously why do these things happen on our highways?! πŸ’”

🚨🀯 59-cars is just insane on a highway. What's going through those drivers' minds when they're already driving on a bad road with fog? It's like they're asking for trouble πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. And what's the rush, you know? πŸ™„ People need to take their time and enjoy the ride πŸ’¨. This just brings up all these questions - why was it so foggy? Was there a warning system in place? I'm not looking for excuses, though 🚫. All I want is answers on how something like this can happen again β°πŸ’”

🚨 Can you imagine being trapped in a massive pileup with no warning? The footage from inside Yamel's car is insane... it looks like a war zone πŸŒͺ️. The fact that the foggy conditions made it even harder for drivers to react just adds to the tragedy. It's wild how quickly everything escalated into chaos, with people screaming and trying to escape on both sides of the highway 😱. And can we talk about the tow companies working tirelessly to get everyone out safely? A dozen crews, that's dedication 🚧. The aftermath is devastating, especially for Yamel and her mom who got injured in the accident πŸ’”. It's a sobering reminder of how quickly life can change on our roads πŸš—πŸ’₯.

omg 🀯... what was going on with those drivers?! πŸš—πŸ’₯ they were just cruising along and then BAM! massive pileup happens out of nowhere 😱... i mean, foggy conditions or not, it's crazy how fast things can go wrong when you're driving on the highway. so many cars, so much damage... it's like a war zone πŸŒͺ️... and those poor people stuck in the middle divider? 🀯 they must have been freaking out 😨... dashcam footage is always so eye-opening, i mean, you see things that make you go 'wow' 😲... i'm just glad no one was killed in this tragedy πŸ’”, but 2 people injured? that's still super scary 😬...

🚨😱 oh man I cant even imagine being stuck in that situation its like something out of a horror movie the fact that there was so much chaos and destruction is just wow I feel so bad for yamel and her mom who got caught in the middle of it all 59 cars crashing and people screaming for help its just devastating to see πŸ€•πŸš‘

and the footage of it is so intense I dont think I could handle watching it again but at the same time I need to know what happened its like our lives are literally in the hands of drivers who take risks on the road πŸ˜±πŸ’¨ and foggy conditions just made everything worse

anyway I hope yamel and her mom are doing okay after being taken to the hospital πŸ€žπŸ’•
