downtown la is actually one of the most underrated places in america 
i mean think about it, you got six lines of metro that connect you to all these iconic spots like disneyland and santa monica pier...and its not just about the touristy stuff either, there's some amazing museums and theaters too. plus, the food scene is on point 
from santee alley for some crazy bargains to rooftop restaurants with sick views...staying in dTLA can actually be super convenient and cheap compared to places like west hollywood or beverly hills 
so yeah, if you haven't been to downtown la yet, i'd say give it a shot
