'We lived a miraculous thing': Castel di Sangro, 30 years on from their epic rise

omg u gotta read this article about castel di sangro's miracle season 🤯 its like they say what happens in italy stays in italy but apparently there was some wild stuff goin down behind closed doors 💁‍♂️ cocaine smuggling scandals and all that drama but at the same time these people were literally fightin for their lives on the pitch 24/7 ⚽️ its crazy how they say a team is only as strong as its weakest link but in this case it was like every single person was holdin up the team 💕 anyway gotta give props to mcginniss for stickin it out and tellin the real story 🙌

I gotta say, this whole Castel di Sangro thing is wild 🤯. Like, I've heard of teams making comebacks before, but not winning promotion in like 2 seconds flat. And with no players or equipment? That's just crazy talk 😂. I mean, I'm glad McGinniss wrote the book and all, but some people are saying he sensationalized it a bit too much...idk, maybe.

But for real though, what's amazing is how the team came together despite all the drama and stuff. Those player deaths were super tragic 😔, and the cocaine smuggling scandal? No bueno 🚫. But at the same time, it's awesome that they had that strong bond of friendship and camaraderie. That's what really made their season special.

I've gotta give props to McGinniss for trying to tell the true story behind "Il Miracolo". It's not always easy to get all the details right, especially when you're writing about a team that was basically in the middle of a soap opera 📺. Still, I think he did a great job capturing the essence of what went down in Castel di Sangro.

Anyway, it's def worth reading up on this story if you're into football or just want to know more about Italy's crazy football history 🏆👍
