Wendy & Peter Pan review – sugar-rush spectacle with an awfully big hormonal hot-crush

idk why they kept trying to make Peter Pan more "realistic" - it's a story about a kid who refuses to grow up, for crying out loud 🤷‍♂️! can't we just enjoy it as a sweet fantasy? the whole thing feels like they're trying too hard to appeal to modern audiences, when really it should be about capturing the magic of childhood. and btw, I loved the crocodile - that aerial work was insane! 😲 but yeah, the rest of the production just felt meh 🤔

I was really looking forward to this production of Wendy & Peter Pan 🤔, but I'm so disappointed that it didn't deliver 😐. The special effects were insane, I won't deny that! But at some point, all the shiny lights and video projections started to feel like a distraction from the actual story 🎥. And yeah, the aerial work was super cool, Harrison Claxton is a talented actor 🤩, but it's not enough to make up for the slow pacing and weird character choices 🙄. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to make Peter Pan go through puberty? 😂 Toby Stephens as Captain Hook was a highlight though, he totally brought that over-the-top villainy to life 👏. Overall, I'd say this production felt like a sugar rush in the wrong direction - all flash and no substance 💨

man this wendy & peter pan production sounds like a total mess 🤯 the cast is all over the place i mean hannah saxby as wendy is pretty meh her transformation into this "mother" figure to the lost boys feels super forced and tinker bell's arrival is just abrupt like what even 🙄 dan krikler's peter pan character is weird he's struggling with hormonal desires instead of being all carefree and youthful it's like they took a page outta teenage diary lol
