'What did I just watch?' The TV shows that utterly baffle us – but we can't switch off

The article reviews several TV shows from different genres, including drama, comedy, and mystery.

In the "Dramas" section, Reese Witherspoon stars in The Morning Show, a sharp post-#MeToo drama about systemic cover-up of sexual misconduct by powerful men. However, the show quickly devolves into a glossy and luxurious rot.

The article also reviews Nathan Fielder's The Rehearsal, which uses absurd business advice as cringe comedy meets late-capitalism critique. The show's premise involves "rehearsing" difficult conversations or scenarios on elaborate sets with trained actors, but it blurs the line between reality and fiction.

In the "Mystery/Thriller" section, Sofie Gråbøl stars in The Killing, a show that was part of a small screen mini golden age. The article praises the show's exoticism, including its moody atmosphere, stylish dialogue, and intricate plotting nuances.

The article also mentions other shows in this genre, such as Borgen and The Bridge, which were also part of the Scandi-noir mini golden age. These shows are known for their unique language, distinctive tone, and atmospheric mood.

Overall, the article provides a summary of several TV shows across different genres, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses.

omg, i'm so done with tv dramas that are all about 'social justice'... like, can't we just have a show about a person who's just trying to survive in a chaotic world without it being a preachy #MeToo drama?

nathan fielder's rehearsal is like the ultimate cringe fest - I mean, rehearsing difficult conversations on sets with actors? sounds like my aunt trying to navigate a workplace conflict . but i gotta give it to him, he's always pushing boundaries and making us laugh (or roll our eyes)

anyway, The Killing was always one of those shows that just worked... Sofie Gråbøl's performance is iconic 💁‍♀️. and Borgen and The Bridge are still my go-to Scandi-noir shows - they're like the OGs of moody atmospheres and stylish dialogue 📺.

idk why ppl still watch The Morning Show its like theyre tryna be all edgy but end up lookin lame 🙄. Nathan Fielder's show tho is like the perfect antidote to our toxic work culture lol it gets me every time! Sofie Gråbøl as a detective tho is 1000% my spirit animal, i love how dark and gritty those scandi-noir shows are 🍺👊

omg u guys, i just watched The Morning Show with reese witherspoon & it's like... i get where they're trying to go but the whole thing feels super superficial 🤷‍♀️, all that glamour and luxury, but like isn't that just a distraction from the real issues? 🤑 and don't even get me started on Nathan Fielder's show, The Rehearsal... lol what even is this? 😂 it's like they're trying to critique capitalism with absurdity, but sometimes i feel like it comes off as lazy writing 💔

Just watched "The Rehearsal" and it's like they took all the cringy business meetings from my aunt's life and put them on screen 🤦‍♀️💼 Nathan Fielder is a genius at making you laugh while also criticizing capitalism 😂👏

I'm not sure about this whole 'golden age' thing, it sounds like a fancy way of saying they're still making some really good shows 🤔. The Killing is definitely one of my faves, Sofie Gråbøl's performance is top-notch. But I gotta agree with the article that some of these Scandinavian shows can get a bit too 'dark and moody' for my taste. It's like they're trying to out- gritty each other 🤷‍♀️. And what's up with The Morning Show, it starts off strong but then just becomes a bunch of over-the-top drama and pretentiousness 😒.

I gotta say, this article got me thinking about the politics of prestige TV 🤔. See, when you have shows like The Morning Show that try to tackle serious issues like #MeToo, it's like they're trying to prove a point, but end up being all style and no substance 💃. I mean, is the luxury and glamour thing really necessary? Can't we focus on telling more nuanced stories about systemic injustice?

And then you got shows like The Rehearsal that are just poking fun at late-capitalism 🤑. It's like they're using satire to comment on our society, but is it biting too hard or just becoming clickbait? I think we need more nuance in our critiques of power and privilege.

Meanwhile, shows like The Killing and Borgen got the Scandi-noir thing down pat, with their moody atmospheres and intricate plotting. It's like they're speaking a different language 🇳🇴. But what does it say about our culture that we need to import these styles from other countries? Shouldn't we be creating more homegrown shows that reflect our own complexities?

I guess what I'm saying is, TV shows are a reflection of our society, and we should be critical of the narratives we consume 📺. Let's keep pushing for more substance over style! 💪

📺 I'm loving this article review thingy - it's so cool to see how they're breaking down these TV shows into different genres and what makes each one tick. You know, The Morning Show is like, super intense on its #MeToo themes but then it kinda gets watered down with all the luxury stuff 🤑. And I'm totally here for Nathan Fielder's cringe comedy vibes - The Rehearsal sounds like a wild ride! But what really got my attention was Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing - that show is like, totally underrated if you ask me 😒. And Scandi-noir shows are always so dark and moody, it's like they're speaking straight to my soul 💀. Anyway, I think the article does a great job of giving us a rundown of what's out there in TV land - now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go binge some shows 📺

I'm so over The Morning Show right now 🤦‍♀️ it's like they took all the good vibes from the #MeToo movement and threw them out the window. I get that the show was trying to tackle some heavy issues but it feels like it lost sight of what's really important in the process. And don't even get me started on the production values, it's like they're more worried about making it look pretty than actually saying something meaningful 💁‍♀️

But on the other hand I'm loving The Rehearsal right now 😂 Nathan Fielder is a genius when it comes to poking fun at our capitalist society. I mean who wouldn't want to watch a show where you can rehearse your difficult conversations in a ridiculously elaborate setting? It's like he's holding up a mirror to modern life and I am HERE. FOR. IT 💅

omg i just finished binge-watching The Morning Show 🤯 it was soooo good at first but then it got super weird and i'm like totally invested in these characters now idk if i should be worried about the whole #MeToo thing though it feels kinda realistic lol also, Nathan Fielder's show is SO cringeworthy i die laughing every time he tries to "rehearse" those conversations with his actors 🤣 but at the same time, i can see what he's trying to say about capitalism... anyway, The Killing is still my fave tho! Sofie Gråbøl is just so amazing and the atmosphere in that show gives me LIFE 💀

I'm so over all these drama-filled shows 🙄. I mean, The Morning Show sounds like a super intense watch, but it just doesn't seem very mindful for my vibe you know? It's all about the luxury and glamour, which is totally not what I'm looking for when I want to unwind.

I do love me some mystery/thriller shows though 🕵️‍♀️! Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing sounds like a total bingewatch 😍. And The Rehearsal is just soooo cringeworthy in the best way possible 😂. I need to check those out ASAP.

I'm also intrigued by Borgen and The Bridge... they sound like such unique and atmospheric shows 🌆. I love how they're known for their distinctive language and moody vibes - that's exactly what I need to get lost in 😴.

love the sound of Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing!!! 🤩 it's like they just transport you to another world with that moody atmosphere and stylish dialogue 😍 borgen is another fave of mine too, the way they tackle politics and power struggles is so intriguing 💡

📺👀 I'm so over how some dramas focus on the glamour instead of the real issues 🤷‍♀️. Shows like The Morning Show should be exploring systemic change not just power struggles 💼. That being said, The Rehearsal is a wild ride 😂 and Nathan Fielder's absurdity is genius in critiquing capitalism 🤑. And can we talk about how much I love the mystery/thriller section? Sofie Gråbøl is an icon 👸 and Borgen still holds up as one of my all-time faves 💖

lol what's up with Reese Witherspoon's new show The Morning Show? it looks super promising at first but then just turns into a rich people drama that doesn't really say anything about the #MeToo movement 🙄. and Nathan Fielder's The Rehearsal is so cringeworthy it's like watching a bad dad trying to be cool 😂. on the other hand, Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing is still so good tho, that show was fire 💥

omg i loved the morning show at first but then it just felt like they were trying too hard to be dramatic lol 🙄 and the rehearsal is so weird i mean who comes up with rehearsing conversations on sets? sounds like some bad improv night gone wrong 😂 anyway, the killing is a great example of how to do mystery right - that moody atmosphere is everything! 💀

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, The Morning Show is soooo disappointing 🤔. I mean, I love Reese Witherspoon but this show just went from being super timely to cringeworthy. Like, I get what they were trying to do but it feels like they lost touch with the message. And don’t even get me started on the set design – all those luxury parties and designer clothes? It felt so...out of touch 🤑. Anyway, if you’re a fan of shows that actually tackle tough issues, there are way better ones out there 🤷‍♀️.

And I love The Killing! Sofie Gråbøl is amazing as Sarah Lund 😍. The show’s atmosphere and dialogue are so moody and atmospheric, it’s like they took all the best parts of Scandi-noir and put them in a TV show 🌑. I also loved Borgen and The Bridge – those shows were like a mini golden age for mystery/thrillers 🎥.

OMG, I'm soooo disappointed with The Morning Show 🤕! I love Reese Witherspoon but this show is like, totally lost its vibe 💔 after a few episodes it's just all fancy and pretty but not really saying anything deep about the #MeToo movement 🙅‍♀️. And can we talk about how boring the plot gets? I mean, I've seen some soap operas that were way more exciting than this 💁‍♀️. Give me The Killing any day over The Morning Show 😴. Nathan Fielder's show is a total guilty pleasure 🤣, it's so cringy but also genius! 🤔 And Sofie Gråbøl is just amazing in The Killing ❤️. If you haven't checked out Borgen and The Bridge yet, you need to ASAP! 👀 They're like, the OG Scandi-noir shows 🙌

Honestly I'm not sure how many more of these luxury dramas we need 🤑. The Morning Show sounds interesting at first but then it's just too glitzy for its own good. And what's up with the rehearsal show, Nathan Fielder is so extra 😂. But you know who I'm really rooting for? Sofie Gråbøl in The Killing - that girl can act, and those Nordic shows are just so atmospheric 🌃. Borgen and The Bridge are like a dream team of Scandinavian TV shows, I've watched them all and they're still holding up today 💥.

I think what really stood out to me is how some of these shows got lost in production - The Morning Show's attempt at tackling tough issues got watered down by lavish sets and a glossy sheen. And then there's The Rehearsal which uses cringe humor as a way to critique late-capitalism, but sometimes feels like it's just trying too hard.

But on the other hand, shows like The Killing really nail the atmosphere and mood of their respective settings - it's like you're right there in Copenhagen with Sofie Gråbøl's character. And Borgen and The Bridge are still great examples of Scandi-noir at its best - they've got this distinct tone and language that just feels authentic.

It's also interesting to see how different genres have different standards for quality - dramas seem to be more concerned with getting the 'right' message, whereas thrillers can get away with more ambiguity. Anyway, I think what I'm saying is that TV shows are super subjective, you know?

just watched reese witherspoon's morning show and honestly it's all about how pretty everyone is and what fancy clothes they wear, meanwhile they're still dealing with some deep issues but it feels kinda watered down. also nathan fielder's rehearsal sounds so weird i'm not sure if i'd watch it 🤔💸
