Which football league had the fewest teams finishing with a positive GD? | The Knowledge

In the Bundesliga, only six teams have finished a full season with positive goal difference out of the eighteen teams that currently play. The majority of teams in the league struggle to maintain a winning record throughout the entire season.

According to records from other European leagues, such as the English Premier League and the Portuguese top flight, around 15% of clubs in those divisions have completed an entire season with positive goal difference. This is significantly less than what's seen in division three of the old English league system back in the 1950s.

In Portugal, for example, the number is higher - around 22%. Only four clubs managed to finish a full season with a positive goal difference that year: Benfica, Porto, Braga and Sporting.

man... Bundesliga teams gotta step up their game 🤔. I mean, 6 out of 18 teams getting a positive goal diff is kinda laughable, right? It's like they're not even trying to win or something 😒. And comparing it to other European leagues, like the Premier League and Portuguese top flight... come on, those guys are pros! 🤦‍♂️ They can manage a whole season without losing their minds.

And Portugal's doing way better than Germany in this regard? That's just not right 🙅‍♂️. I mean, Benfica, Porto, Braga and Sporting all finishing with positive goal diff... that's impressive! Where are the other 16 teams? 😂 Did they all get lost on their way to the stadium or something? 🤷‍♂️

I mean think about it... Bundesliga's got some of the best teams in Europe right now, but still only six teams make it out on top? That's crazy! 🤯 And what's up with these other European leagues? 15% is pretty low. I'd have thought at least 20-25% would be more realistic. And Portugal's doing slightly better, which makes sense since they've got some powerhouse clubs like Benfica and Porto. But still, it's surprising that so many teams struggle to stay positive. Maybe it's just the way the league structure works or something?

idk why ppl struggle so much w/ maintaining a winning rec in the Bundesliga lol 🤷‍♂️ its like they cant even get it right 4 once 🙄. i mean, out of 18 teams, only 6 manage 2 finish w/ positive goal diff?? thats like, what r they doin wrong?? 🤔 its not like its rocket science or somethin 😂. and btw, the stats from other leagues arnt much better 📊. in english premier league, less than 15% of clubs even manage 2 finish w/ positive goal diff 🙃. but hey, at least portugal's got 22% 🤝 tho 👍

omg i feel u guys, my fave team didnt even break even this season 🤦‍♂️ lol the Bundesliga is like super competitive right? i know some teams can get lucky and then just ride the wave all season long, but for most teams it's like trying to keep a positive streak alive while everyone else is just trying to stay out of relegation 😅 what even is the point of having a goal difference if you're just gonna end up losing anyway? 🤔

it's crazy how much teams struggle to keep their winning records goin 🤯. like, you got these top european leagues where teams are expected to perform well but still can't even get through the season without losin' some games . it makes u wonder if it's just a matter of depth or somethin'. the fact that only 15% of clubs in premier league and portuguese top flight made it with positive goal difference is wild 🤔. i mean, benfica & porto are like powerhouses but even they had some struggles back in the day... maybe it's just how teams develop from lower divisions to top?
