this all sounds great on paper
but how much is the real cost to taxpayers when you factor in those transmission costs? like, what's really going into those bills that consumers are gonna see decrease? also, what about the environmental impact of building more and more wind farms? we're talking about 12 million homes here... is our grid even ready for this kinda scale?
and btw, £90.91/mwh might sound cheap but it's still £9.91 more than a new gas-fired power plant
that's not insignificant. how does the gov plan to make up for that? and what about the jobs created - are they all sustainable in the long run or just short-term fixes?
lastly, i'd love to see some actual data on the carbon emissions reduction from these wind farms. is it really 40% less expensive than gas power? where's the proof?
