Women's Super League: 'We will never give up' - Bompastor reaction

Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor is "in no doubt" that the title race in the Women's Super League has slipped away from her team, following a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. The French manager, who took over at Chelsea last month, knows that her side will need an almost perfect run-in to catch up with leaders Manchester City.

The loss marked Chelsea's second consecutive defeat in the league, while Arsenal moved a step closer to securing their first Women's Super League title since 2008. Bompastor was left disappointed by the result, despite praising the visitors' performance.

"I think we lost control of the game from the start," she admitted. "We tried everything but couldn't score a goal. The girls who scored for Arsenal were very good."

Chelsea face a daunting run-in ahead of them, with Manchester City and Chelsea's former manager Emma Hayes' West Ham United all vying for the title in the remaining fixtures. While Bompastor refuses to give up hope, her words suggest that the title may be slipping through their fingers.

"We will never give up," she vowed. "We will keep fighting until the end."

omg can't believe what happened at stamford bridge 😱 chelsea was so in control at the start but then just fell apart 💔 i think bompastor's right, they did lose control and couldn't score a single goal 🤦‍♀️ meanwhile arsenal is on fire 🔥 and man city is still gonna be tough to catch i'm not giving up hope for chelsea yet tho 🙏 2-0 loss stings but they can turn it around if they stay focused 💪 gotta keep an eye on emma hayes' west ham united too 🤔

man this is crazy how quickly it went from like Chelsea was in contention for the title now they're basically out of it 🤯 i mean Sonia Bompastor is right though we gotta feel bad for her she took over last month and already getting destroyed by the team she's trying to manage 😩 also can't believe Arsenal are gonna take this title it's been ages since they won one... remember when Abby Wambach was dominating on the pitch? 🏀💪

Ugh 🤦‍♀️ I'm not loving Chelsea's chances of winning the league right now... They're playing catch-up and it seems like an impossible task. The stats just aren't in their favor and they're going to need a serious miracle to overtake Manchester City. 😬 Sonia Bompastor is being super optimistic, but honestly, I think she's being unrealistic. 🤷‍♀️ Still, gotta respect her determination! 💪

Wow 🤯 the French manager is super realistic about Chelsea's chances now 😅 they're in a tough spot with Manchester City and West Ham United pushing for the title... almost perfect run-in huh? 😂 Chelsea needs to step up their game if they wanna make a comeback! 💪

I was just watching a funny video of a cat trying to "help" its owner cook and I'm like totally entertained 🐈😂... anyway, back to this Women's Super League thingy... can you imagine having to watch every single game for 4 more weeks? that's like watching paint dry 😴. and honestly, the stats are just overwhelming - Manchester City is on fire 💥!

Ugh, I'm getting so frustrated with Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor right now 🙄😩. A 2-0 defeat to Arsenal and they're basically out of contention for the title? It's like they were sleepwalking on the pitch... I mean, I get it, a tough run-in ahead of them, but come on! 🤦‍♀️ You've got to start winning now if you want to catch up. The fact that Bompastor is acknowledging their own team's mistakes and saying they need an "almost perfect" run-in is just, like, so sad 😔. I'm all for a never-give-up attitude and all, but sometimes you gotta face reality too... 🤷‍♀️

🤔 I mean come on, 2-0 defeat and you're still giving the Arsenal girls a shoutout? The girl who just scored a beauty of a goal is probably thinking 'nice try, Sonia' instead of 'oh wow, what a great team effort'. Chelsea's gotta step up their game if they wanna chase down Manchester City... but it seems like they're already losing control. 🏆

ugh man... chelsea's season is literally gone now 🤦‍♀️💔 i feel for sonia bompastor, but her words are like... really? we gotta believe in her 😒 2-0 defeat to arsenal and they're still alive? that's not gonna happen 💀 i'm all for never giving up, but like come on guys, make it happen 🔥

I feel bad for Sonia Bompastor and the girls at Chelsea 🤕. I mean, a 2-0 defeat is tough to swallow, but you can't help but think that they played some amazing Arsenal yesterday 😮. And let's be real, Manchester City is pretty much cruising to that title right now ⚽️. But here's the thing - even though the odds might seem against them, Chelsea has this crazy-strong team and a brilliant manager 💪. They've been through tough times before, like that 2008 drought you mentioned, and they always bounce back 🔥. So yeah, it might look bleak now, but I still think they can pull off an epic comeback 🤞. We just gotta root for 'em all the way!

😒 the women's super league has been so dominating by man city and it's hard not to feel a bit sorry for teams like chelsea who just can't seem to get that one big win 🤦‍♀️ arseneal is playing some great football right now, i mean 2-0 at stamford bridge is no joke ⚽️ and bompastor's comment about losing control from the start is spot on, she knows her team needs to up their game if they wanna catch up 🤔

..Chelsea's title hopes are looking pretty grim now 🤔. I get that they'll have to put on a near-perfect run-in, but 2-0 at home to Arsenal is a huge wake-up call 😬. Bompastor saying she lost control from the start is kinda harsh, though - maybe it was just one of those days? 💁‍♀️ Still, for me, it's hard to see them catching up with Manchester City now. The gap seems too big 🚧. Let's see how they bounce back, I suppose...

ugh, 2-0 defeat to Arsenal is a big one 🤕... think chelsea's in a tough spot now... almost perfect run-in? that's a tall order 💪... but you gotta respect sonia bompastor for keeping it real, admitted they lost control from the start 💯... still got to wish 'em luck, though 😊

Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor is being super realistic about their chances of catching up with Manchester City 🤔. I mean, it's not like they're going to go on a crazy winning streak and overtake them in one game, right? 🙄 A perfect run-in would be needed, which is basically impossible considering the teams they'll be facing 💪. It's all looking pretty bleak for Chelsea... 😐

I'm literally shocked that Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor is being so optimistic despite losing 2-0 to Arsenal 🤯... I mean, what if she's just trying to hold onto hope? Maybe they can turn their season around in the next few games? But at the same time, it seems like the title might be out of reach for Chelsea. They've lost two consecutive matches and are still a long way behind Manchester City 📈. Does that mean Bompastor is just delusional about their chances or does she genuinely believe they can make a comeback? I guess we'll have to wait and see how the rest of the season unfolds ⏰...

man... chelsea's season is literally over 🤦‍♀️... i mean they need almost a miracle to catch up with man city now... sophie bompastor is trying to stay positive but it's hard not to feel like they're out of the running 🙅‍♀️... what's even more sad is that arsenal just dominated them 2-0 and still didn't put on a show like that in their own games 😒... i guess we'll just have to wait and see how west ham does now that emma hayes is at the helm 🤔

🐈😕 I'm shocked at Chelsea's performance last night 🤯 they've been in such a strong run before and now it seems like all that has fallen apart 💔 is their lack of cohesion on the field? Sonia Bompastor says they lost control from the start, but how can you lose a game if your opponents are scoring goals left right and center 🚀? does she think Arsenal's girls were just magically better than hers? 🤷‍♀️ it makes me wonder what went wrong in their strategy... maybe they should've gone with more direct passes instead of all that long ball nonsense ⏰

omg 2-0 defeat is like a death sentence in football lol 😂 but seriously Sonia Bompastor's team needs to step up their game ASAP or they'll be watching Manchester City party all summer 🎉👯‍♀️ & I gotta feel for Chelsea, 2 consecutive defeats is not good at all... think they need to get their mojo back like ASAP ASAP 💫

Ugh, Chelsea's season is literally going up in smoke 🤯! I mean, a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal is huge and now they're just chasing a pipe dream? The team needs to figure out what's going on and make some serious changes ASAP. Sonia Bompastor seems like a cool manager and all, but even she has to acknowledge that things aren't looking good 🤔. Like, how can you lose control of the game from the start? It's just not adding up. And yeah, the title is slipping away... it's hard to see Chelsea coming back from this 💔.

man... this feels like the same story we used to hear about Manchester United when they were dominating the league back in the Fergie days 🤔. I mean, it's not the first time Chelsea's had a slump and it won't be the last. i'm still holding out hope that they can turn things around but it's tough to see them catch up with City right now... 2008, wow that's a loooong time ago 😱. Emma Hayes is one of those legendary managers who always seems to come out on top when playing against Chelsea 🏆. We'll just have to wait and see how this title chase plays out 💪
