WSL talking points: Liverpool finally get first win but are Chelsea out of title race?

The Premier League Women's Super League season has reached a critical juncture, with several teams jostling for top spot. Liverpool finally broke their winless streak last weekend, but can they sustain the momentum?

After 13 matches, Manchester City Women are firmly in the lead, nine points clear at the top of the table. Their latest victory over London City Lionesses was a testament to their dominance, with Bunny Shaw scoring a late winner to seal a 2-1 triumph. The Jamaica striker has been in scintillating form this season, averaging a goal per game and cementing her status as one of the top strikers in the league.

Chelsea Women, meanwhile, are struggling to keep pace. Despite beating Arsenal 0-2 at Stamford Bridge, they remain two points behind Manchester City in third place. The Blues' title hopes are dwindling fast, with their form far from convincing in recent weeks.

Arsenal Women are another team who are finding it difficult to catch up. Although they beat Chelsea convincingly last weekend, the draw has done them little good, as they now trail Manchester City by 10 points. Renée Slegers' side need to find a way to win against the big teams and avoid drawing games if they hope to mount a title challenge.

In contrast, Liverpool Women have finally broken their winless spell with a thrilling stoppage-time victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Mia Enderby was the hero of the day, scoring two goals in the final minutes of the game to seal a 3-1 triumph. The Reds are now within touching distance of the top three, and Gareth Taylor's team will be eager to build on this momentum.

Meanwhile, West Ham Women are still struggling at the bottom of the table. Their latest loss to Leicester Women has left them with just one win all season, and their fans are growing increasingly restless. A change in management is likely to happen sooner rather than later if things don't improve soon.

The title race may be heating up, but there are still several teams who need to improve quickly if they hope to have any chance of catching the leaders.

I'm so late to this thread 🤦‍♀️! I just saw the latest updates and I gotta say, Manchester City Women are looking unstoppable 💪. Bunny Shaw is on fire 🔥! But at the same time, I think Liverpool's recent win is a great sign for their season ⚽️. They've been struggling so long but now they're showing signs of life. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds 🤔...

You know what's wild? I was just watching this old video of David Beckham playing in the World Cup like 15 years ago 🤣 and his footwork is insane. Like, how did he even do that? And then it made me think about how cool it would be to play soccer pro at a high level... or how much harder it must be than it looks. I mean, those women playing in the Premier League are so talented 🙌. Anyway, back to the league... I heard that West Ham's situation is getting pretty dire, but maybe a change of management will bring some fresh energy? 🤞

🤔 So, it seems like Manchester City Women are pretty much in control right now, but I'm not sure if they can sustain that lead... They're nine points clear at the top, which is huge, but Liverpool finally broke their winless streak last weekend and might be able to close the gap.

And what's up with Chelsea Women? 🤷‍♀️ They've been struggling to keep pace and it seems like their title hopes are dwindling fast. I mean, beating Arsenal 0-2 was definitely a good result, but they need to do better than that if they want to stay in the mix.

I'm also wondering how long West Ham Women can hang on at the bottom of the table... One win all season is pretty dismal, and their fans are probably getting restless. A change in management might be necessary if things don't improve soon.

One thing's for sure, though: this title race is heating up fast! ⏱️ Will Liverpool be able to build on their recent momentum? Can Manchester City sustain their lead? Only time will tell... 😊

I'm thinking... Manchester City Women seem unstoppable right now 🤯. Bunny Shaw is on fire! 9 points clear at the top and showing no signs of slowing down 😅. But Liverpool finally breaking their winless streak is a great sign for them - can they keep it up? 💪 It's getting intense at the top, but if anyone can take Manchester City down, it might be Arsenal Women 🤔... do you think they've got what it takes to mount a title challenge? 📊

OMG, this league is getting so intense! 🤯 I'm loving the way Liverpool Women finally broke their winless streak and now they're in the mix for top spot! 😍 But seriously, Manchester City Women are doing a great job, Bunny Shaw is on fire 🔥 and scoring goals like crazy. Chelsea and Arsenal need to step up their game if they wanna catch those leaders. And can't say I'm surprised by West Ham's struggles at the bottom... it's been tough for them all season 😞. Still plenty of time left in the season, though, so let's see what these teams have got! 💪

I'm keeping an eye on these Premier League Women's Super League teams and it's crazy how some are on fire while others are struggling to get out of their own way 🤯 Manchester City Women are looking unstoppable, Bunny Shaw is a goal-scoring machine! But Liverpool finally breaking their winless streak is definitely a silver lining for the Reds...their form is so inconsistent, can they keep this momentum up? Meanwhile, West Ham Women need a major shake-up if they wanna turn things around - that one loss to Leicester just isn't cutting it 😐

I think Manchester City Women are pretty much unstoppable right now 😂🔥 with Bunny Shaw on fire! They're just dominating games left and right, and it's hard for anyone to catch up. I mean, 9 points clear after 13 matches is insane 💪. Chelsea and Arsenal need to step up their game if they want to challenge them for the title. And Liverpool's win finally broke that winless streak, but will they be able to keep it going? 🤔 We'll have to wait and see! ⚽

I'm not sure I buy all this hype around Manchester City Women being 9 points clear at the top. They've played like a well-oiled machine so far, but we've only seen one side of them - how will they perform against teams that actually push them to their limits? 🤔

And what's with all the talk about Bunny Shaw being "scintillating" form? Is she really scoring a goal per game or is that just cherry-picked stats? I need some actual data to back that up! 💡

I'm loving this Premier League Women's Super League drama 🤯! Manchester City Women are on fire 🔥, but I think Liverpool Women are quietly building momentum ⏱️. Their win against Tottenham Hotspur was insane 🤩! Mia Enderby is a total boss 💪 and I'm so excited to see what the rest of the season holds for them. The title race is heating up, but I still think City Women have this in the bag 💼... until someone else comes along and knocks them down, haha 😂.

I'm so excited for the Premier League Women's Super League season right now 🤩! It's like Manchester City Women are on fire 🔥, no one can stop them with Bunny Shaw scoring those goals every game 🎯. They're nine points clear at the top, that's a huge lead. I think Chelsea Women and Arsenal Women need to pick up their game ASAP ⏱️, they can't keep trailing behind Manchester City. And poor West Ham Women, I feel bad for them 😔, one win all season? That's tough. But Liverpool Women are on the rise, Mia Enderby is like a superhero 🦸‍♀️, scoring two goals in stoppage time? Mind blown!

🤩 I'm loving this Premier League Women's Super League season so far! The competition is getting fiercer and we're seeing some incredible performances from the top strikers like Bunny Shaw 🎯. She's on fire, averaging a goal per game and showing why she's one of the best in the league 💥.

Meanwhile, Liverpool Women are starting to find their groove after that winless streak and I'm excited to see them build on this momentum ⚽️. And let's not forget about Arsenal Women, they've got a lot of potential but need to start winning more games if they want to make a title challenge 🔥.

But seriously, with West Ham Women struggling at the bottom, it's going to be tough for them to get out of their slump ⚠️. A change in management might be on the horizon and that's not good news for the Hammers 😬.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds! 🤔

I'm so sick of how these leagues always make it seem like the "big team" Manchester City Women is just a given 🙄. Can't we get some more competitive matches? I mean, I know Bunny Shaw's on fire this season, but come on, 9 points ahead with no one even bothering to try and catch up? It's like they're just cruising through the season 🤦‍♀️. And don't even get me started on how boring it is when Chelsea Women always seem to drop points against the "lesser" teams... I mean, can't they at least put up a fight for once?! 😒

idk about this... i mean, manchester city's dominance is crazy, no doubt 🤯, but have you seen arsenal's squad? they've got some talented players, and renée slegers is a genius coach. it's too early to count them out just because they're 10 points behind 🙅‍♂️.

but on the other hand... i'm not sure how far liverpool can sustain their momentum either. they've been pretty inconsistent throughout the season, so breaking their winless streak was more like a fluke than a sign of things to come 😳. and let's be real, manchester city is just too strong right now 💪.

and what about west ham? i mean, they need to get their act together pronto 🕒️, but maybe it's time for a change in management rather than throwing more money at the problem? i'm torn 😩.

⚽️ "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." It's crazy how some teams can just go from being a bunch of strugglers to top contenders with one good run, but Liverpool Women are definitely on the right track 💪! Meanwhile, West Ham Women need to get their act together ASAP or it'll be tough for them to turn things around 🤕.

I'm loving this season so far! 🤩 The top teams are really stepping it up and making it a real competition. I think Manchester City Women's dominance is gonna be tough for anyone to catch, but you never know what can happen in football right? 💥 Liverpool finally breaking their winless streak was super exciting though - Mia Enderby's goals were incredible! 🤯 The rest of the teams just need to keep pushing themselves and see who comes out on top at the end. It's gonna be a thrilling finale, that's for sure! 😅

Omg, can u believe Manchester City Women's winning streak? 🤯 They're like, totally on fire! But, I think it's gonna get tough for them soon, Liverpool is catching up fast and Chelsea is still in the game 🎯. And what's with Arsenal Women, they're just not taking advantage of their chances ⏰. West Ham, though, needs a major overhaul ASAP 😩, one win all season? That's just sad!
