Xabi Alonso: Real Madrid head coach leaves club and is replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa

Real Madrid Have Sacked Head Coach Xabi Alonso Just Seven Months into His Job, and He's Replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa.

The Spanish giants' decision to part ways with Alonso comes after a dismal defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona. Real are currently second in LaLiga, four points behind leaders Barcelona at the halfway stage of the campaign.

Alonso took over as head coach in the summer, replacing Carlo Ancelotti. He had previously guided Bayer Leverkusen to the German league and cup double, and was also linked to the Liverpool job before opting to stay with Leverkusen for another season.

Now, Alonso has been replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa, who has been coaching Real Madrid's B team since the start of this season. The 42-year-old played alongside Alonso at both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, as well as Liverpool.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon expressed surprise at Alonso's departure, stating that he had doubts about his appointment even before the Super Cup final defeat. He believes that replacing Alonso with Arbeloa will not improve things for Real.

The question on everyone's mind now is where did it all go wrong for Alonso? Did he fail to adapt to the demands of the top-tier coaching job after a successful playing career at Real Madrid, Liverpool, and the Spain national team? Is there more to his departure than meets the eye?

One thing is certain - Xabi Alonso has parted ways with Real Madrid, and Alvaro Arbeloa is now at the helm. The question remains as to whether this change will bring about a resurgence in form for the Spanish giants or if it's just another chapter in a long and storied history of managerial changes.

man... Alonso got done in so fast 🀯 it's like they didn't even want him to try out some new tactics πŸ˜‚ but seriously, what went wrong? was he not the right fit for the role or did he just get caught up in the pressure of leading such a big team? i feel bad for the guy, he had a great playing career and guided Leverkusen to a double πŸ† it's like they're going through the motions over there now... Arbeloa's got some experience, but is he gonna be able to turn things around? only time will tell πŸ’₯

I gotta say, 7 months in and out he goes πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ? Alonso had some decent results at Leverkusen, but I'm not sure if he was ever gonna magic Real Madrid into winning anything major 😏. And yeah, the Super Cup loss was a bummer, but you can't just blame one coach for that. Maybe Real were already planning to give him a boot πŸ€‘...and now we're stuck with Arbeloa, who's coached the B team this whole time? What's his game plan gonna be, eh? πŸ˜‚

ugh, great, just what we need, another coaching change at Real Madrid πŸ™„. Alonso was already on thin ice after that super cup final loss, but did they have to get rid of him so quickly? πŸ€” i mean, four points behind barcelona at the halfway point isn't exactly a disaster, is it? and arbeloa? coach of the b team? what does he know about managing the first team? πŸ™ƒ this whole thing just feels like another example of real madrid's incompetence. Alonso probably got sacked because of the board's pressure or because he couldn't get along with someone... whoever that person is πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Man, can you believe what's going on at Real Madrid? One minute Alonso is in charge, and the next he's outta there after just seven months. I'm not surprised though, their performance has been pretty underwhelming lately. They're already four points behind Barcelona at this point in the season...that's a big gap to close.

I think some people are gonna say it's because Alonso was a player-manager and couldn't adapt to the demands of being a top-tier coach. But I'm not so sure about that. He did do alright with Bayer Leverkusen, after all. Maybe he just needed some time to settle in and figure things out?

It's always tough when you're making these big changes, but maybe this is an opportunity for Real Madrid to go back to the drawing board and find someone who can really turn their season around. I hope Arbeloa is up to the task...we'll see how it all plays out! πŸ€”

I'm kinda surprised that Alonso got sacked so soon πŸ€”... I mean, he did have some decent results at Real Madrid, but they were kinda inconsistent, you know? Like, they won some games and then lost others to the same team πŸ˜‚. And I don't think it's fair to say he failed to adapt, 'cause he was a pro player for so long, how hard is it to transition into coaching? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

But at the same time, Alonso did get thrashed in that Super Cup final... like, 3-0 is no joke 😳. And I don't think it's just about adapting, maybe he was just not the right fit for Real Madrid this season πŸ€”. And Arbeloa's a good coach and all, but has anyone seen his CV? Like, what's he even qualified to do at Real Madrid? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

So yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out with Arbeloa... but for now, I'm just kinda neutral about it 😐. Maybe Alonso will go on to coach Liverpool or something πŸ™„.

Ugh, I'm so bummed to hear that Alonso is out as Real Madrid coach πŸ€•. I mean, he had such promise after his playing days - I loved watching him play for Liverpool, he was like the ultimate team player 😊. But coaching is all about making tough decisions and adapting to new situations... maybe he just didn't have the right support system or players around him to make it work? πŸ€”

I'm curious to see how Arbeloa does - I know he's a Real Madrid legend, but coaching is so different from playing! πŸ’¬ He'll definitely have his hands full trying to turn things around for the team. Fingers crossed for Alonso, though... I think he deserves another shot at it 🀞.

Ugh I'm literally shaking with frustration... seven months into his job and Alonso is already out? What even is the point of trying new managers if it's just gonna be a revolving door? 🀯 And now they're resorting to someone who played alongside Alonso at Real Madrid?! Like, what are they even thinking? Do they not remember how he turned Bayer Leverkusen around in one season?! πŸ™„ It's like they want the team to fail or something. I'm so tired of this constant carousel of managers and coaches... can't they just give someone a chance to prove themselves for once?! 😩

I mean, who needs stability when you can have... drama? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Seven months is definitely not a short period of time to be sacked, especially with Real Madrid's expectations at an all-time high. I guess Alonso just couldn't handle the pressure or whatever πŸ˜’. Arbeloa, huh? Well, he did start coaching the B team, so I'm sure that's a great indicator of his managerial skills πŸ™„. On the bright side, it'll be fun to watch Real Madrid try and figure out what went wrong again πŸ‘€. Maybe they should just put up a " Manager for Hire" sign and see who applies πŸ˜‚.

omg what happened to Xabi Alonso?? πŸ€”πŸ˜± he had so much potential! i mean, he did an amazing job at Leverkusen and was even linked to Liverpool... it doesn't make sense that Real Madrid would sack him after just 7 months πŸ™„. i think the spanish super cup final defeat is a big part of it tho, they need someone who can get them back on track ASAP πŸ’ͺ. Alvaro Arbeloa's appointment is definitely a bold move though... fingers crossed he brings some stability to the team πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

I don’t usually comment but... I'm kinda surprised that Alonso got the axe so soon πŸ€”. He did have some big shoes to fill coming from his playing career, but I thought he was doing alright at Real Madrid 😐. That loss in the Spanish Super Cup final though must've been a tough pill to swallow for him and the team. It's not like he didn't have any experience managing before, leading Bayer Leverkusen to that double πŸ†. I don't know if replacing Alonso with Arbeloa is gonna be a game-changer or just another experiment πŸ˜…. Either way, it'll be interesting to see how things play out under the new coach πŸ‘€

πŸ€” 7 months into the job and he's gone? I'm not buying it. Alonso had some good results, like that German league double with Leverkusen, but Real Madrid is a different beast altogether. The fact that they're currently second in LaLiga, 4 points behind Barcelona, suggests to me that Alonso wasn't the problem. Maybe he was just trying to adjust to the team's dynamics? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I'd love to see some data on his tactics and player performance before jumping to conclusions about his departure. What really changed between now and the Super Cup final defeat? Sources, anyone? πŸ’‘

lol what happened to Alonso lol he was supposed to be the hero but he couldn't even lift the trophy πŸ†πŸ˜‚. maybe arbeloa is gonna bring some old school vibes back to real madrid...or maybe not idk πŸ˜’ i feel like they should've stuck with alcacer or whoever else was doing better than alonso πŸ‘Ž

lol what a mess πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, 7 months in and he's already gone? seems like the club is more interested in changing things than actually figuring out what's wrong πŸ”„... alvaro arbeloa? really? i thought he was just a defender πŸ˜… hope the b team coach can bring some stability to la liga

😬 I'm literally so confused about Xabi Alonso's departure from Real Madrid, fam πŸ€”. One minute he's crushing it as coach, guiding them to second place in LaLiga, and the next he's gone πŸ’₯. I mean, I get that one bad game doesn't define a whole season, but for him to get sacked after just 7 months is wild 🀯. What went down? Was it his tactics? His team selection? Or was it something else entirely? πŸ€” The fact that they're replacing him with Alvaro Arbeloa... I don't know, man πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. It feels like a huge step back for the squad. Can they bounce back from this? 🀞 Only time will tell, but I'm hyped to see what happens next πŸ“Ί.

this sudden sacking of xabi alonso is pretty puzzling πŸ€”, especially considering he had such a great track record with bayer leverkusen last season. i mean, four points behind barcelona at the halfway stage is defo not ideal, but it's not like real madrid are gonna magically turn their form around just coz they've changed coaches πŸ˜…. and what's up with replacing him with alvaro arbeloa? hasn't he been coaching that B team for ages? maybe this whole thing is just a case of real madrid panicking 🚨, or could there be something more to it? i'm curious to see how this plays out πŸ’‘

im not surprised lol real madrid is all about change i mean, theyve been going thru that 4 years now & its still the same old story alonso might've been a bit too cautious for his own good, didnt take enough risks to shake things up but u know, hes had an amazing playing career & i think he woulda done great as a coach if he was ready

its not surprising that Alonso got axed πŸ€”, he was always going to struggle in the big chair after his playing days. i mean, dont get me wrong, hes an legend and all that, but managing a team like Real Madrid is a whole different beast. hes only been there for 7 months, its a long time to try to turn things around, especially when you're competing with barca for league titles.

i think the real question is what will arbeloa bring to the table? hes played for real madrid and spain, so he knows the clubs inside out, but can he adapt his playing experience to the demands of a top-tier manager role? its a risk, but one that might pay off. the key is now for madrid fans to stick with him and give him time to turn things around.

man whats goin on with real madrid lol theyre changin managers like its nobodies business i think xabi alonso got a bit too comfortable bein in charge after he was so good at playin for them & spain, but now theyre just throwin him under the bus and bringin in some guy who played alongside him πŸ€” meanwhile barcelona is killin it & lookin like the team to beat 😎

Its like they're changing coaches every season lol. Alonso was supposed to be the new big thing, but I guess he didn't quite live up to expectations after all. I mean, I thought he'd do better considering his playing days at Real Madrid and Liverpool. Guess the pressure of coaching in LaLiga is just too much for some guys πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

What's weird is that they're replacing him with Arbeloa who's basically a player-turned-coach lol what a weird career path! I guess it's one way to get some B team experience under your belt before taking on the big boys.
