Zohran Mamdani allies launch group to harness grassroots energy of his mayoral campaign

🤔 think its gonna be interesting how this plays out... mamdani's campaign was pretty grassroots, so it'll be cool to see if his allies can keep that momentum going without losing focus on the bigger picture 🌈 also gotta wonder what kinda transparency they're really planning to bring to the table 💯

I'm not sure if I think this is a good idea or a bad one... 🤔 I mean, on the one hand, it's awesome that people are getting involved and wanting to make a difference. We've got our hands full with so many issues right now. On the other hand, I don't want anyone to feel like they're being bought off by some big donor or organization. Like, what if this 'Our Time' group becomes more powerful than the actual city government? 🤯 It's good that they're trying to be transparent and all, but you can never really know what's going on behind the scenes. And 15,000 volunteers for trips to Albany? That sounds like a lot of work... 😩

Ugh I don't get why Zohran's people are so quick to make another org just 'cause they won the election 🤔 They're basically setting up shop for future campaigns, like it's all about lining their own pockets... 501c4? Sounds shady to me 💸 And what's with these "hundreds of volunteers" they want to recruit? Don't get me wrong, civic engagement is great and all, but isn't this just a way to expand their reach and influence? 🤷‍♀️ Also, I'm not sure how I feel about their transparency measures... seems like good PR at first glance, but what's the real motive here? 🤑

I'm not sure I love the idea of these new nonprofit groups just popping up to capitalize on someone's campaign momentum 🤔. Back in my day, we had real grassroots movements that weren't just fueled by social media attention. Our Time sounds like it's trying to do some good, but with all this "pay-to-play" worry, I'm not sure if they're being transparent enough 💸. Don't get me wrong, universal child care is a great idea, and I'm all for engaging voters, but let's not forget about the bigger picture here 🗺️. Can we really rely on these groups to make real change or are they just gonna be another cog in the machine? 🤷‍♀️

I'm thinking about these new nonprofit groups popping up everywhere... 🤔 It's crazy how grassroots momentum can turn into full-blown movements so fast. These Our Time folks seem legit, though - transparent, all that jazz. But, I mean, what's the deal with all these watchdogs sounding the alarm about pay-to-play? 🤑 Can't say I blame 'em, but also don't wanna be one of those cynical types who assumes everyone's just trying to game the system. These door-knocking campaigns and volunteer recruitment efforts sound like a great way to get people involved, though. If they can pull it off without getting too cozy with the powers that be, this "Our Time" movement might just be onto something 💡
