Attempted sexual assaults in Logan Square prompt community alert

Violent Attacks in Chicago's Logan Square Leave Community on High Alert

Two women were shaken by attempted sexual assaults in the early hours of Friday morning, in a pair of incidents that left residents of Logan Square on edge. The first assault occurred at 2:32 a.m. on North Sawyer Avenue, where a man approached the victim from behind and used verbal threats and physical force to subdue her. Thankfully, her cries for help drew the attention of nearby residents, who came to her aid and helped her escape.

Just over an hour later, another woman was targeted in a similar manner at 3:23 a.m. on West Schubert Avenue. According to police, the man also approached her from behind and used physical force to restrain her before fleeing the scene when confronted by bystanders.

Details of the suspect are still being sought, but authorities have released a description of him as a man between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 10 tall, with a medium to dark complexion and a thin build. He was last seen wearing dark gray jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt with green and black trim at the bottom, and a gray or black ski mask.

The police are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. If you have any details, please contact Area Five Detectives at 312-746-6554 or submit an anonymous tip through CPDTIP.com using reference numbers RD# JJ498163 or JJ498195.

๐Ÿ˜ฌ "The greatest danger to our liberty is not from the mob, but from those who claim to speak for it." ๐Ÿค” The city of Chicago needs to come together and support each other, especially during these tough times. It's heartbreaking to hear about these women being targeted in such a brutal way. The police are doing their best to catch the guy, but we all need to be on the lookout too! ๐Ÿ‘€

Ugh, another day, another reminder that our online community can't even begin to comprehend the real-world issues people are facing ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I mean, I'm all for sharing my thoughts and opinions, but sometimes it feels like we're just venting about our own problems without ever truly understanding what others are going through.

These latest attacks in Chicago's Logan Square are absolutely horrific ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿšจ. But can we even get a decent discussion started on this forum? Nope ๐Ÿ™„. It's always the same old trolls and spam bots trying to ruin the conversation ๐Ÿ˜ก.

I'm not asking for much, just some basic common decency and respect for each other's opinions ๐Ÿ‘Š. Is that too much to ask?! ๐Ÿค”

omg this is so scary whats going on in chicago?? like literally why would someone do this to these women?? they were just trying to get home from a night out and now they're shaking with fear i hope the police catch this guy soon ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ฑ and what kinda neighborhood is logan square if people are walking around at 2 am thinking it's safe? didn't they hear anything or see anything suspicious?? did anyone follow them or notice the guy? ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ก idk but i want answers ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’”

OMG this is so messed up ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I'm literally shaking thinking about those women being attacked like that. Logan Square is such a great neighborhood, it's always been super safe and welcoming... how can something like this happen?! ๐Ÿค” I'm all for people being vigilant but come on, there gotta be more we can do to prevent stuff like this from happening again. I mean, what if those women had their phones out or were with friends? Would the outcome have been different? We need to get our community together and figure out a way to support each other better... and the cops too ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ˜” This whole thing is just so disheartening... I mean, can't we just live in a world where people feel safe? ๐ŸŒŽ These women were just minding their own business and suddenly they're faced with this terrifying situation. It's not just about the physical harm, it's about the fear and vulnerability that comes with being targeted.

You know what's really sad? The fact that we're still living in a society where men feel entitled to control women's bodies without consent. It's like, hello, we've made so much progress, but there's still this underlying issue of toxic masculinity that needs to be addressed ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ.

But you know what the good news is? The community came together to help those women in need. That's what I call resilience and solidarity ๐Ÿ’•. We can learn a lot from how people rallied around each other after these incidents. It's like, when we look out for each other, we become stronger as a community.

The thing is, we all have the power to make a difference. We just gotta be willing to speak up and support those who are marginalized or vulnerable ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ. So let's use these incidents as a wake-up call to be more mindful of our actions and words. Let's create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected ๐Ÿ’–.

omg just heard about this on twitter ๐Ÿšจ and my heart is literally racing i live like 5 min from logan square and its scary to think this could happen to anyone but at the same time i wanna see the ppl who did this get caught ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช so many questions though like what was going through that dude's mind and why did he choose these areas? and i feel for those two women who were literally attacked while walking home ๐Ÿ™ they need all our support and solidarity rn ๐Ÿ’• we gotta keep an eye on each other and look out for one another, especially at night โค๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ This is so scary for the community in Logan Square... just thinking about it makes me want to be more mindful of my surroundings, especially at night. It's crazy that 2 women had to go through something like this. I hope they're doing okay and that the police catch the guy soon. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ We need to stick together as a community and support each other during tough times. ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ˜• this is getting scary in logan square... two women attacked like that? it's unacceptable & i'm so grateful to the ppl who helped them escape ๐Ÿ™ and to the police for investigating, but seriously, how many times does it have to happen before someone gets hurt ๐Ÿ˜ฉ i just hope they catch the guy soon and bring some peace back to logan square ๐Ÿ’•

man... chicago's got a serious problem on its hands ๐Ÿค• these attacks are just so senseless and violent, it's like the guy just saw two women walking alone at 2am and decided to take advantage of them ๐Ÿ˜ฑ what's wrong with people? and now the whole community's on high alert, that's just not fair to everyone who's not even involved in this ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ i mean, i know we need to be careful and all, but we shouldn't have to live like this, constantly looking over our shoulders. and what really gets me is the guy's description - he's not even that tall, just a generic dude with a hoodie on... it's just so frustrating when you can't even get a good look at him ๐Ÿ˜ก anyway, i hope they catch this guy soon and bring some justice to these poor women ๐Ÿคž

omg this is getting out of hand in chicago i mean im not gonna be a hater but what's with the ski mask tho like r u trying 2 hide from ur own crimes lol anyway seriously though these girls gotta be shook up big time glad they had ppl around to help them escape but wut happened 2 our city thats just not right ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšจ

Ugh, Chicago's Logan Square is literally becoming a horror movie set ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ‘ป. I mean, two women attacked in the same area, both with similar stories... what's going on here?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ It's not just the fact that these women were assaulted, it's the whole lack of info about the suspect and the authorities not being more proactive about finding him ASAP ๐Ÿค”. And can we talk about how ridiculous it is to have a ski mask description in this day and age? Like, come on, dude, you're not even trying to hide ๐Ÿ˜‚. Anyways, I hope these women get the help they need and justice is served for whoever did this ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜• this is just so scary for the whole community ๐Ÿ˜“. how can someone just walk around and do these things to people? ๐Ÿค” it's like, hello! we're all human beings, we deserve respect and safety ๐Ÿ˜ก. i hope the police catch the guy ASAP ๐Ÿš” and put an end to this. but in the meantime, i feel so sorry for those two women who went through this traumatic experience ๐Ÿค•. they should get all the support and care they need ๐Ÿ’–. it's just heartbreaking to think that someone would use their power to hurt others like that ๐Ÿ˜ข. we need to look out for each other more, especially at night ๐ŸŒƒ๐Ÿ‘ซ.

idk what's going on in chicago rn ๐Ÿค” but i think we need more CCTV cameras around logan square to catch that guy ASAP ๐Ÿ”. and honestly, 2.5ft is kinda short for a man, maybe he's just really gangly? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ also why do people still use ski masks in daylight? like, what are they even afraid of? ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ˜• saw this and just thinking about the people who got shaken like that... trying to imagine how scary it must be to be in someone else's shoes ๐Ÿคฏ. hopefully, they find the dude ASAP so we can get some peace back in Logan Square ๐Ÿ‘Œ. police need all the help they can get from us, you know? anyone with any info, no matter how small, needs to come forward ๐Ÿ’ก.

idk why ppl got 2 do this lol what's wrong wit these dudes? attacking women in broad daylight like that's crazy! 1st they try 2 grab a girl & threaten her, 2nd they just keep at it like it's no big deal 2 him. gotta be some serious issues here. community's already on edge bc of crime & safety, now this comes out... it's like, how many more ppl need 2 get hurt? anyway, authorities are tryin 2 find the guy but i hope they catch him ASAP. anyone wit info pls come forward! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’”
