Barbican revamp to give 'bewildering' arts centre a new lease of life

I'm gonna say it...the Barbican's layout is straight-up crazy 🤯! Like, what even is going on? I've seen pics of that place and it's like they raided a maze factory. How hard can it be to make a decent entrance? And those signages? Forget about it...I don't blame the accessibility groups for getting frustrated 😩. It's 2025 and we should be way better than this. Can't they just simplify things a bit? Make it easy peasy for everyone? I mean, come on, it's not that hard 🤔.

And what's with all these secrets corridors and walkways looming over spaces? Sounds like a bad spy movie to me 🎥. Jaymi Sudra's got some serious work cut out for her. I'm curious to see how they gonna make this place inclusive and open...that's the real challenge, right? 💡

And let's not forget, this is all happening in 2027...can't wait to see the finished product! Maybe by then we'll have better design standards 🤞. One thing's for sure though - if I ever get lost in that place again (and I probably will 😂), I'll just take a deep breath and pretend I'm on an adventure 🌄
 
Ugh I'm so over how long it takes to get anywhere in this place 🙄. They're spending £451m to fix the layout, but I've been getting lost here for years. And don't even get me started on the signage – I've seen people struggling to find their way out (or in) just trying to get a decent cup of coffee. Can they just simplify things and make it easy for everyone? 🤦‍♀️ It's not like we're asking for much. A straightforward entrance, clear directions... is that too much to ask?! 😒 The whole thing feels like a mess, but at least they're acknowledging the problems and trying to fix them. Fingers crossed the new design actually works this time 🤞
 
I'm thinking it's cool they're finally giving the Barbican a major overhaul 🤔, but £451m is a lot of cash! I hope they can make it accessible for everyone, especially accessibility groups who've been complaining about the signage scheme for ages 🙏. It sounds like Jaymi Sudra has her work cut out for her, making sure the civic space is usable for all, not just those who know where to look 🤷‍♀️. And I love that Philippa Simpson is optimistic about finishing it by 2032 – fingers crossed! 😅
 
I'm low-key hyped about the £451m overhaul at the Barbican arts centre 🤩. It's about time they sorted out that confusing layout, right? OMG, 451m is like, crazy 💸! I'm so down for an overhaul, tho 🤗. I've been lost at the Barbican too lol 😂. Remember that one time someone had to climb a wall? 🤣. It's like, how hard can it be to find the Fountain Room, right? 🙄. But seriously, making it accessible is gonna be hard. Like, what even is "fully permissive" tho? 🤔. Can't wait to see what they come up with, though! The new signage scheme better not be as bad as the old one 😜. Can't believe they're removing all but 1 of the original signs 👎. Fingers crossed it's all done by 2032, or I'll be all like "wait, where's my Fountain Room again? 🤦‍♀️"
