Barbican revamp to give 'bewildering' arts centre a new lease of life

I'm gonna say it...the Barbican's layout is straight-up crazy 🀯! Like, what even is going on? I've seen pics of that place and it's like they raided a maze factory. How hard can it be to make a decent entrance? And those signages? Forget about it...I don't blame the accessibility groups for getting frustrated 😩. It's 2025 and we should be way better than this. Can't they just simplify things a bit? Make it easy peasy for everyone? I mean, come on, it's not that hard πŸ€”.

And what's with all these secrets corridors and walkways looming over spaces? Sounds like a bad spy movie to me πŸŽ₯. Jaymi Sudra's got some serious work cut out for her. I'm curious to see how they gonna make this place inclusive and open...that's the real challenge, right? πŸ’‘

And let's not forget, this is all happening in 2027...can't wait to see the finished product! Maybe by then we'll have better design standards 🀞. One thing's for sure though - if I ever get lost in that place again (and I probably will πŸ˜‚), I'll just take a deep breath and pretend I'm on an adventure πŸŒ„

Ugh I'm so over how long it takes to get anywhere in this place πŸ™„. They're spending Β£451m to fix the layout, but I've been getting lost here for years. And don't even get me started on the signage – I've seen people struggling to find their way out (or in) just trying to get a decent cup of coffee. Can they just simplify things and make it easy for everyone? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ It's not like we're asking for much. A straightforward entrance, clear directions... is that too much to ask?! πŸ˜’ The whole thing feels like a mess, but at least they're acknowledging the problems and trying to fix them. Fingers crossed the new design actually works this time 🀞

I'm thinking it's cool they're finally giving the Barbican a major overhaul πŸ€”, but Β£451m is a lot of cash! I hope they can make it accessible for everyone, especially accessibility groups who've been complaining about the signage scheme for ages πŸ™. It sounds like Jaymi Sudra has her work cut out for her, making sure the civic space is usable for all, not just those who know where to look πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. And I love that Philippa Simpson is optimistic about finishing it by 2032 – fingers crossed! πŸ˜…

I'm low-key hyped about the Β£451m overhaul at the Barbican arts centre 🀩. It's about time they sorted out that confusing layout, right? I mean, who needs to get lost in a building that's like something out of a sci-fi movie πŸš€. Accessibility is super important and it's awesome that they're finally addressing those signage issues.

I'm curious to see how they'll balance making the space more inclusive with keeping its original vibe. It can't be an easy task, especially since it's been around for 43 years πŸ˜…. Director Philippa Simpson has taken on similar challenges before, so fingers crossed she gets it done by 2032 πŸŽ‰.

One thing that's got me thinking is how they'll make the civic space usable for everyone – you know, making it fully permissive and all that jazz πŸ€”. It's a big ask, but I think it's doable if they get it right πŸ’‘.

The whole thing is gonna be a hot mess if they don't get it together πŸ˜‚. Like, Β£451m is a lot of cash for a facelift, but have you seen the place? It's like something out of a maze movie. I'm not surprised people get lost in there. And accessibility groups? They've been saying this same thing for years, so yeah, a new signage scheme is long overdue. The question is, how are they gonna make it usable for everyone? Like, open and inclusive? It's a tall order, but I hope they figure it out. One thing's for sure, it's gonna be interesting to see the finished product πŸ€”

OMG, 451m is like, crazy πŸ’Έ! I'm so down for an overhaul, tho πŸ€—. I've been lost at the Barbican too lol πŸ˜‚. Remember that one time someone had to climb a wall? 🀣. It's like, how hard can it be to find the Fountain Room, right? πŸ™„. But seriously, making it accessible is gonna be hard. Like, what even is "fully permissive" tho? πŸ€”. Can't wait to see what they come up with, though! The new signage scheme better not be as bad as the old one 😜. Can't believe they're removing all but 1 of the original signs πŸ‘Ž. Fingers crossed it's all done by 2032, or I'll be all like "wait, where's my Fountain Room again? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ"
