Fast-casual chain Sweetgreen readies first Detroit location - Detroit Metro Times

Sweetgreen, a popular fast-casual chain known for its fresh salads and bowls, is set to open its first location in downtown Detroit, marking the sixth spot in Michigan. The new restaurant will be situated at One Campus Martius building and promises to bring Sweetgreen's take on healthy, real food to the heart of the city.

According to Chris Tarrant, Chief Development Officer at Sweetgreen, "Detroit has an undeniable momentum right now, and we're honored to be part of it." He added that the company looks forward to connecting with regional suppliers like Zingerman's Creamery and Riverridge Produce. This commitment to local sourcing reflects Sweetgreen's dedication to serving fresh ingredients in its menu items.

The Detroit location will celebrate its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, featuring special collaborations with local businesses such as Bon Bon Bon for sweets and Earthy Botanical Mobile Bar for warm drinks. One Custom City, a local apparel company, will also be present with live screen printing activities.

As part of its grand opening, Sweetgreen has pledged to donate one meal to Detroit's Forgotten Harvest charity for every meal purchased during this event. This commitment highlights the company's efforts to give back to the community while serving high-quality food.

With six locations now in Michigan, Sweetgreen looks forward to expanding its presence in Detroit and contributing to the city's vibrant food scene.

ugh i'm so over these grand opening events on forums ๐Ÿ™„ it's like every company just gives out free stuff and expects us to get all excited ๐ŸŽ‰ anyway back to sweetgreen, good on them for trying to give back with that charity donation, but can't they just post a decent salad menu on the forum instead of all this fluffy intro mumbo jumbo ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ it's been 3 days and we still don't know what even comes in their salads ๐Ÿ˜’

Grand opening party with local businesses? More like community building party ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ซ

๐Ÿคฉ oh man i'm so hyped for sweetgreen to come to detroit!!! i've been following them online since they started and their salads are literally life-changing ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ˜‹ i love that they're committed to using local suppliers too, it shows they really care about the community and not just making a quick buck ๐Ÿ’ธ plus they're doing this amazing thing where for every meal sold on opening day, they'll be donating a meal to some charity ๐Ÿค like what even is better than that?! i'm definitely gonna hit up this grand opening event and get my sweetgreen fix ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ˜’ finally some decent news about detroit! these new businesses coming in are gonna bring some life to that downtown area. i mean, who doesn't love a good salad ๐Ÿฅ— especially if they're made with local ingredients like zingerman's creamery ๐Ÿคค gotta give props to sweetgreen for trying to make a difference with their donations too ๐Ÿ’•

this is so cool! sweetgreen coming to detroit is like a breath of fresh air for the city's food scene ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š. i love that they're committing to local sourcing - it's all about community and supporting the local economy, you know? ๐Ÿ’ช

and omg, collaborations with local businesses are everything! bon bon bon and earthy botanical mobile bar are going to bring some amazing energy to the grand opening ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿซ. one custom city's live screen printing activities are so dope too - it's like they're bringing art to the table (or in this case, the salad bowl) ๐ŸŽจ

but what really gets me is that sweetgreen is giving back to the community by donating meals to detroit's forgotten harvest charity ๐Ÿค. it's all about spreading love and kindness through food, and i am HERE for it โค๏ธ

๐Ÿค” I think it's awesome that Sweetgreen is opening up shop in downtown Detroit! ๐ŸŽ‰ They're really getting into the spirit of supporting local businesses and suppliers - it's all about community, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š Plus, who wouldn't want a Bon Bon Bon sweet treat to go with their salad? ๐Ÿ“ It's great to see them giving back to the city through that charity donation, too. The fact that they're acknowledging Detroit's "undeniable momentum" is pretty cool - it shows they're on board with the city's vibe and willing to adapt to what works best for its people. Can't wait to check out their menu items and support local flavors! ๐ŸŒฑ

awww come on ๐Ÿค” Detroit's getting another chain restaurant I mean I guess it's nice they're committing to local suppliers but is that really gonna make a difference in the grand scheme of things? They're just gonna be another faceless corporation trying to make a quick buck off people's lunch money ๐Ÿค‘. And what about the actual food quality? We all know how fast-casual places are always skimping on the freshness and stuff ๐Ÿคฎ. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, but let's not get our hopes up too high ๐Ÿ˜.

I'm intrigued by Sweetgreen's decision to bring its healthy eatery to downtown Detroit ๐Ÿค”. The fact that they're prioritizing local sourcing by partnering with regional suppliers like Zingerman's Creamery and Riverridge Produce shows a commitment to sustainability that aligns with the city's revitalization efforts ๐Ÿ’š. It'll be interesting to see how this new location blends in with the city's cultural landscape, but I'm optimistic about the potential for Sweetgreen to make a positive impact on Detroit's food scene ๐ŸŒž.

Ugh, I just saw the cutest video of a puppy trying to catch a ball and it made me think about how much I love dogs ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŒž. Anyway, back to Sweetgreen... have you guys tried their new menu items? They're supposed to be really good ๐Ÿค”. I'm not sure if they'll be able to compete with the other healthy food spots in Detroit, but it's always great to see a chain supporting local suppliers ๐Ÿ’š. And yay for collaborations with local businesses! Bon Bon Bon sounds like so much fun ๐ŸŽ‰. Oh, and did you know that the One Custom City screen printing activities might be a great way to reduce waste? That's something to think about... I wonder if they'll offer any discounts on merch if we show up early ๐Ÿ˜„.
