Haunted Christmas brings spooky and festive fun to Philadelphia Brewing Co. on Dec. 13

Philadelphia Brewing Co. is gearing up for a spooktacular celebration this holiday season as it partners with the East Kensington Arts Committee to host Haunted Christmas on December 13th.

From noon until 7 p.m., the venue will transform into a winter wonderland of weird and wonderful delights, featuring an array of vendors, performances, and events that defy traditional notions of the festive season. For one day only, the usually tranquil East Kensington neighborhood will become a hotbed of quirky entertainment, courtesy of Philly's very own Krampus.

The half-goat, half-demon creature will make appearances throughout the afternoon, bringing its own brand of mischief to the proceedings through roaming interactions and photo opportunities. In between Krampus sightings, audiences can indulge in some authentic Slavic folk music performances by Sing Slavic, a group of women, trans, and nonbinary singers who share traditions from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, and Russia.

In the afternoon, The Ghosts of Gingerband Past will treat attendees to a haunting blend of festive tunes and theatrical flair, backed up by a talented ensemble of musicians. Meanwhile, Screwball Screenings will showcase an eclectic mix of oddball films alongside work from local artists, providing a platform for creative experimentation and discovery.

As night begins to fall, the festivities will culminate in "Krampus Gets Cramped," a PG-13 shadow puppet show that injects retro rock vibes into the proceedings. For one enchanting evening, Philly's residents are invited to abandon their holiday worries and immerse themselves in a strange and spirited twist on the festive season – all for free.

Haunted Christmas takes place at Philadelphia Brewing Co., 2440 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125 on Saturday, December 13th from noon until 7 p.m.

I don't get why people are all about this weird Krampus thing... I mean, it's just a myth, right? πŸ€” And the fact that they're charging nothing for it is kinda cheapening the whole experience. What if they actually spent some cash on decorations and food instead of just slapping up some random vendors and performers? It'll be super crowded and uncomfortable, I bet.

omg i love this idea!!! who needs traditional christmas when u can have a spooky krampus takeover lol πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Ί i've been to philly brewing co before and it's always a vibe, but this event sounds straight fire! the music performances sound so cool too πŸŽΆπŸ•·οΈ i'm def gonna make sure to bring my squad and take some sick pics with krampus πŸ“ΈπŸŽƒ can't wait to see what kind of weirdness they've got planned for us πŸ’₯

I love that it's all about embracing the weird and wonderful side of the season. And the fact that they're supporting local artists and trans women's voices through Slavic folk music is amazing! πŸ’– It's like Philly's getting its own quirky holiday vibe on, and I'm here for it πŸŽ‰πŸ‘.

Who wouldn't want to see Krampus roaming around and some sick shadow puppet shows? I'm definitely gonna try to make it out there on Dec 13th... or whenever my sanity decides to take a break from the holiday chaos πŸ˜‚

I'm stoked about Haunted Christmas in Philly, but I gotta say, some of these events sound kinda weird πŸ€”. Like, who thought having a half-goat, half-demon creature roam around would be fun? Don't get me wrong, it's all in the spirit of the season and all that... but I'm not sure I'd wanna run into Krampus just 'cause πŸ˜…. On the other hand, I love the sound of those Slavic folk music performances – that stuff is so cool 🎢! And a free event with some awesome sounds? Count me in, especially if it's got a bit of an edge to it πŸ’₯. Just hope they've got plenty of food and drink options available... all this weirdness can be exhausting 😴.
