Haverhill 18-year-old charged with murder for September fatal shooting of Lawrence man

A 19-year-old Haverhill resident has been charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of a Lawrence man last September. Hector Mota, who is just a year older than his alleged victim, Hugo Delrosario, 27, was taken into custody on Monday by Essex County authorities.

According to court documents, Mota is also facing additional charges, including carrying a loaded firearm without a license and possessing an unlicensed firearm. The Lawrence District Court has ordered him held without bail, pending a probable cause hearing scheduled for February 5.

Mota's arrest marks the culmination of an ongoing investigation into Delrosario's shooting death, which occurred in September. While details surrounding the incident remain scarce, law enforcement officials have confirmed that Mota is the primary suspect in the case.

An attorney representing Mota has declined to comment on the matter, leaving it unclear what circumstances led to the young man's arrest and subsequent charges. The court hearing set for February 5 is expected to provide further insight into the case, although a specific date for Delrosario's trial remains unknown at this time.

Man... another senseless tragedy 🤕. You think about the life of that poor guy Hugo, just 27 years old, and what could have been his future? What dreams he had, what goals he was chasing? And then you got a young kid like Hector, who's probably still trying to figure out who he is and where he fits in, and suddenly he's accused of taking someone's life. It's just so... sad 😔.

And the thing is, we don't even know all the circumstances that led up to this point. What was going on in their lives? Was there some misunderstanding or miscommunication that got out of hand? We'll never really know for sure unless Hector speaks up and shares his side of the story.

But what I do know is that our society has a problem with violence and impulsiveness 🚨. It's like we're not teaching our kids how to handle conflicts or how to resolve issues without resorting to violence. And when they do get caught up in something like this, we're left wondering what happened and how we can prevent it from happening again.

So let's take a step back and think about this: what would you have done if you were in Hector's shoes? Would you have reacted the same way? Or would you have found a different way to deal with your emotions and situation? 🤔

Ugh, can't believe another young person gets locked up over a stupid gun law 🤦‍♂️. I mean, what's the point of carrying a loaded firearm without a license? Are they gonna make a special exception for "just in case" situations? It's like, Mota's gotta be 30 or something before he can even own a handgun 🙄. And now this kid is stuck in court, with no bail and a trial date that's basically up in the air... it's all just so frustrating 😒.

I'm not surprised about this new development in Haverhill... it's like they're trying to send a message to the community or something 🤔. A 19-yr-old kid is charged with murder? That's crazy, right? I mean, I don't know all the details yet, but it sounds like Mota was involved in a very serious situation. And on top of that, he's got some other charges like carrying a loaded gun without a license... talk about adding more pressure to an already tough situation 😬.

I do wonder what the court hearing will be like on Feb 5 tho. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of things and provide some closure for Hugo Delrosario's family... that's all anyone can really ask for at this point 🙏.

Just read about this crazy story - a 19-yr-old arrested for murder lol what happened to this kid? seems like he was caught with his pants down carrying a loaded gun & all that... hope the trial goes smoothly & justice is served 🤔🚫💼

man, another 19-yr-old kid goes from nothing to life in prison 🤯 what's going on with these young people lately? it's like they're just waiting for something to go wrong, and when it does, they just lose control and end up killing someone... it's crazy how fast it can all fall apart. i'm not saying the guy didn't do it or anything, but come on, 19 years old! he's still young enough to figure out what's going on in his own life, let alone take another person's life 😔
