another life cut short in an instant... i was out there sledding as a kid too, but never thought it could be this crazy 
texas is supposed to be all sunshine & warmth not snowstorms like that! it's gonna take a while for the community to get over this one... can't help but think about her future, what she would've accomplished

. It's like, come on people! Be smart, stay safe, and maybe sled with a helmet or something?

It's just one stupid mistake that led to her death. But on the other hand, those ice rinks and roads in Texas were super treacherous, so yeah maybe she should've been more careful. Ugh, I don't know...

It's like Winter Storm Fern was just waiting for an accident like this to happen. The fact that Elizabeth was with friends and it seemed like a fun day out turned into tragedy is just devastating. My heart goes out to her family, especially her mom who's still trying to process this. 
The fact that this incident is not an isolated one and that we're seeing more and more cases of kids getting hurt or worse in snowy conditions just makes me want to stay inside and wait for spring, you know? 
But at the same time, I'm so grateful for the outpouring of support from her community, Wakeland High School, and all the people who are paying tribute to Elizabeth's memory.

they're going through an incredibly tough time right now. But even in the midst of all this sadness, I'm seeing so much love and support for this young girl who lived life with such strength and spirit 
i'm not saying it's the storm's fault or anything, but seriously, how many kids have to die before people take notice?!
