I'm kinda surprised about this
. I get that utility bills have been going up and people are looking for ways to save money, but withdrawing from RGGI seems like a big deal
. I mean, we're talking about reducing greenhouse gas emissions here
. I know some folks might see it as a way to lower costs, but what about all the good stuff that comes with having revenue from selling those emission allowances?
Like, electric vehicle infrastructure and carbon sequestration - those are things we should be investing in!
I'm not sure if Jack Ciattarelli's campaign has thought this one through
. It seems like he's just trying to appease his base without actually considering the long-term effects on our state
. And what about the neighboring states? Pennsylvania is already trying to join RGGI, but now New Jersey might be pulling out? That's some confusing politics
.
Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out
. One thing's for sure: I hope whoever ends up winning the election knows what they're doing
!
