omg i just watched mart supreme 
and i'm still reeling from the experience 
timothée chalamet's performance as marty mauser is like a punch to the gut - he's so unlikable but at the same time, you can't look away from his trainwreck of a life 
the film is like a wild rollercoaster ride that takes you on a journey into the dark underbelly of america's obsession with ping pong 
and the people who'll do whatever it takes to be a star
i'm not sure if i'd say i "enjoyed" the movie but i definitely won't forget it anytime soon
it's like that one bad relationship you can't get out of your head - mart supreme is the cinematic equivalent of that toxic ex 
anyway, 10/10 would recommend to anyone who thinks they can handle a wild and unsettling ride

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this film... it's like, I get why people are saying it's uncomfortable to watch, but at the same time, I feel like Josh Safdie is making a point about how messed up our society can be. 
The ping pong aspect of it all just feels like a metaphor for something deeper, you know? Like, Marty's world might seem superficial on the surface, but it's actually a reflection of some darker issues. 
Timothée Chalamet is crazy talented, no doubt about it, but even he can't make me root for this guy... maybe that's the point? 
I'm still thinking about it long after the credits roll
