Paramount's Call of Duty movie taps the writers of Yellowstone and Friday Night Lights

Paramount's highly anticipated Call of Duty film project is taking shape with two notable creatives on board. The blockbuster adaptation, which has been in development for some time, will be produced and co-written by Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg, a duo who have already made waves in the entertainment industry.

Sheridan, known for his work on the hit TV series Yellowstone and films like Lioness and Mayor of Kingstown, brings his signature storytelling style to the project. Berg, meanwhile, is best recognized as the writer behind the critically acclaimed football drama Friday Night Lights, a role that earned him numerous awards and nominations.

The two creatives will be joined by Berg on the director's chair, marking their first collaboration on a film together. While some details about the movie are still under wraps, including the era of the Call of Duty franchise it will tackle, industry insiders believe a contemporary approach is likely. With Sheridan and Berg at the helm, fans can expect a gritty and authentic take on the beloved video game series.

As production gears up, casting announcements are expected to follow soon, with fans eagerly anticipating the talents that will bring this high-octane story to life on the big screen. Until then, Paramount's Call of Duty film remains shrouded in mystery, leaving fans wondering what exciting twists and turns this highly anticipated adaptation has in store.

OMG yaaas this is gonna be EPIC!!! 🤩 I'm literally hyped for a gritty and authentic take on the Call of Duty franchise! With Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg on board, you can bet it's gonna be intense and real. I've been waiting for ages for an official film adaptation and now that it's finally happening, I'm super excited to see how they'll bring the gaming world to life on the big screen. I'm super stoked about this movie! I've been a fan of Taylor Sheridan's work for ages, his shows are so immersive and the way he weaves storylines is just genius 🤯. Adding Peter Berg to the mix is a dream come true, Friday Night Lights is one of my all-time fave movies, and I love how gritty it was 👊. Can't wait to see what kind of epic take they'll bring to Call of Duty on the big screen!

idk why ppl r hyped about a call of duty movie lol 🤣 it's just gonna be some generic, overhyped blockbuster with no real depth or substance. sheridan & berg are cool i guess but they're not gonna bring anything new to the table. and let's be real, who needs a gritty take on a video game when u can just make it like every other action movie? 🤷‍♂️ plus, calling it "contemporary" is just code for "it'll be same old formula we've seen before". casting announcements are just gonna be ppl trying to cash in on the hype... 🤑

🤯 I'm low-key hyped about this! A gritty & authentic take on CoD sounds like it's gonna be lit 🔥! Taylor Sheridan & Peter Berg are a dream team, their styles mesh together so well. I love how they're taking a contemporary approach, can't wait to see who gets cast in the film. The anticipation is killing me 🤪👀

so I think it's cool that they're bringing in these two creatives from TV and film. Taylor Sheridan is known for his gritty storytelling on Yellowstone, which I love because it's so raw and real 🤯. And Peter Berg's work on Friday Night Lights was incredible, it's such a masterpiece of underdog stories. I'm intrigued by the idea that they're going to take the Call of Duty franchise in a contemporary direction - might be refreshing to see something different from the usual fast-paced action we get in gaming movies. The fact that there won't be too many details out just yet is actually kind of exciting, it's like the anticipation is building and I'm right there with the fans waiting for casting announcements 🎥.

i think taylor sheridan and peter berg are a sick team for call of duty movie! they've both got that gritty realistic vibe going on from their previous work, like friday night lights and yellownestone. i'm low-key hyped to see how they'll tackle the video game franchise and bring it into the real world. if they go contemporary, i'm down for a fresh take on the characters and storylines. can't wait to see who's gonna join the cast and what kind of twists and turns this movie has in store 🎥👀

you know what's wild? i was playing call of duty last night and i saw that new map they just added 🤯 it's so sick! i mean, have you guys played it yet? i'm still trying to get my aim down but the new guns are lit 🔫 anyway, back to this movie... taylor sheridan is supposed to be good at writing shows, what do you think about his take on games being made into movies? 🤔
