The $500 billion beauty industry’s ‘green’ ambitions are a patchwork at best. And they’re falling short | CNN

I feel bad for big brands that are trying their best to go green, but we gotta acknowledge that they're still playing catch-up. It's hard for them to keep up with consumers' expectations when the industry is still lacking in regulation 🤔.

I think it's kinda unfair to bash "clean beauty" marketing, though - some of these brands are just trying to be more transparent about their ingredients and manufacturing processes 💁‍♀️. And yeah, sourcing natural ingredients can be tough, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try! 😊

What really gets me is when people say the industry needs "regulation" like it's a magic solution 🤹‍♀️. Newsflash: regulating beauty packaging isn't gonna solve everything - we need education and awareness too! 📚 We should be encouraging more brands to take ownership of their sustainability claims, even if they're not perfect 💪.

I'm also loving the entrepreneurial spirit of smaller brands that are innovating and finding new ways to make sustainable beauty products 🎉. It's all about progress, folks - we can't expect the big guys to change overnight 🌟!

I think its crazy how beauty brands are trying to jump on the green train 🚂💚 but its clear they need more consistency in their sustainability claims. Like, if a company says their product is clean, can we actually trust that? I mean, 95% of the industry's waste comes from plastic packaging and thats just plain wrong 🤢. The fact that some brands are trying to source PCR plastic though gives me hope 💚. We need more transparency and regulation in the industry so consumers know what they're getting themselves into.

I mean come on! 🤯 $500 billion beauty industry is just patching things up? They're still using all that single-use plastic and expecting us to be okay with it? Like, what's the point of being "green" if you're not actually making a difference? 🌎 And don't even get me started on the whole "clean beauty" thing... it's just a marketing ploy to sell more products! 💸 Can we please have some real standards and regulations in place already?! 🤦‍♀️

omg u guys i cant even believe how messed up the beauty industry is rn 🤯 theyre all like "oh we care about sustainability" but really theyre just patching together a bunch of half baked solutions and hoping no one notices 😒 like whats with the lack of international standards on ingredient info sharing? it sounds like companies are just winging it and using marketing speak to make their products sound way more eco friendly than they actually are 🤥 i mean even the CEO of the British Beauty Council is saying that "clean beauty" is losing traction in the market because people are getting smarter about the industry's flaws 😂 anyway i guess we'll just have to rely on smaller businesses and certifications like B Corp to hold the big brands accountable 💪

💚 honestly i think its wild that people are getting frustrated with the beauty industry being so inconsistent when it comes to sustainability 🤯 like we need more transparency around product ingredients and better marketing info for customers 📝 and also can we please get some international standards in place already?! 🌎 it feels like were just scratching the surface when it comes to making a positive impact on the planet 🌟
