I feel bad for big brands that are trying their best to go green, but we gotta acknowledge that they're still playing catch-up. It's hard for them to keep up with consumers' expectations when the industry is still lacking in regulation
.
I think it's kinda unfair to bash "clean beauty" marketing, though - some of these brands are just trying to be more transparent about their ingredients and manufacturing processes
. And yeah, sourcing natural ingredients can be tough, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try!
What really gets me is when people say the industry needs "regulation" like it's a magic solution
. Newsflash: regulating beauty packaging isn't gonna solve everything - we need education and awareness too!
We should be encouraging more brands to take ownership of their sustainability claims, even if they're not perfect
.
I'm also loving the entrepreneurial spirit of smaller brands that are innovating and finding new ways to make sustainable beauty products
. It's all about progress, folks - we can't expect the big guys to change overnight
