The familiar monster of Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ - Detroit Metro Times

I gotta disagree 🤔, del Toro's approach is way too safe 😴. I mean, where's the risk? The experimentation? He's sticking to what he knows works, rather than pushing the boundaries of storytelling 🌐. And let's be real, Oscar Isaac's performance is pretty one-dimensional 🎭. Give me a movie that takes some real risks and pushes you out of your comfort zone 💥!

I don't get why some ppl need del Toro to change things up from the original story 🤔. For me, that's part of what makes his films so great - he strips away all the unnecessary stuff & lets the main themes shine through 💡. I mean, sure, Oscar Isaac's character is a bit one-dimensional, but it actually works because del Toro is so good at building atmosphere & tension 🌑️. And Jacob Elordi's creature may not be as emotionally complex, but man, he looks AMAZING 😲! The sets & cinematography in this film are just stunning - I felt like I was right there with the monster, exploring all those dark & creepy castle corridors 🏰🎃️. Del Toro's a master at creating worlds that feel both eerie & beautiful at the same time 🌫️. Bring on his next adaptation! 👍

🤯 I'm so over these purists who think del Toro is selling out! Newsflash: he's not trying to recreate the original novel, he's putting his own spin on it 🎥🔪️. And can we talk about how Oscar Isaac's performance is like a hot mess, lol? The guy's got all the range of a teaspoon 🤣. But seriously, Jacob Elordi's creature is straight fire 🔥, even if he doesn't bring the emotional depth. Del Toro knows what works and what doesn't, and this film is proof that his vision is still on point 💡. Bring on the sequels, I want to see where this world-building takes us 🌐!

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, Guillermo del Toro is a genius! 🤯 His attention to detail in world-building is insane. The sets, cinematography, everything just feels so immersive. But what really gets me is how he takes classic stories and makes them feel fresh again. Like, who needs nuance when you have atmosphere 😏? I mean, it's not for everyone but del Toro fans will love every minute of it. Jacob Elordi’s creature might not be the most emotional but hey, that's what makes Oscar Isaac’s Victor Frankenstein so fascinating - he's just so... intense 🔥. And honestly, if this is a deliberate pause in his strategy, I'm hyped for whatever comes next 🎬. Bring on the next del Toro masterpiece! 👏

I'm loving Guillermo del Toro's take on Frankenstein 🕷️. He has this amazing ability to strip away all the extra fluff and just focus on the core of the story, which I think is really interesting. His use of atmospheric storytelling is so masterful - it's like stepping into a whole different world 🌐. And that production design? Insane! 🤯 But what I'm most intrigued by is how he uses his creatures as metaphors for human stuff... like, have you seen Hellboy or Pinocchio? 🤔 Those characters are so well-done. It's clear he's not just about making a quick buck off of classic tales, but actually building something that'll last. Fingers crossed it pays off in the long run! 💫
