I don't get why some ppl need del Toro to change things up from the original story

. For me, that's part of what makes his films so great - he strips away all the unnecessary stuff & lets the main themes shine through

. I mean, sure, Oscar Isaac's character is a bit one-dimensional, but it actually works because del Toro is so good at building atmosphere & tension

️. And Jacob Elordi's creature may not be as emotionally complex, but man, he looks AMAZING

! The sets & cinematography in this film are just stunning - I felt like I was right there with the monster, exploring all those dark & creepy castle corridors


️. Del Toro's a master at creating worlds that feel both eerie & beautiful at the same time

. Bring on his next adaptation!
