the fact that the big supermarkets are literally holding up the entire soybean trade over the amazon rainforest is crazy... i mean on one hand it's awesome that they're taking a stand for the environment, but at the same time it feels like they're just trying to save face after all those years of not doing enough 
and can we talk about how the brazilian agribusiness lobby is just a total disaster? i mean come on guys, you're basically getting sued by a bunch of supermarkets for not following some basic environmental rules... that's not exactly the kind of "free market" I was hoping for
anyway, i guess it's better late than never, and if the retailers can somehow make this work it could actually be a game-changer for the amazon. but let's be real, it's gonna take a lot more than just some empty letters from supermarkets to make a difference... we need real action, not just PR
