'We've got to listen to dead women': critical part of Queensland's DV response stops reviewing all recent deaths

I'm not sure if this change in strategy is a good idea 🤔... I mean, it's probably better than nothing, but stopping the reviews of all recent cases might lead to some avoidable deaths going unnoticed 😱. On the other hand, focusing on "focus areas" might help address specific issues that are more pressing, like Indigenous communities being disproportionately affected by DV 💔.

I'm also a bit worried about the lack of transparency and accountability in decision-making processes 📝... if experts and survivors aren't properly consulted, how can we expect to improve the system? But at the same time, maybe the current leadership structure is necessary to address some of the systemic issues that have plagued the DV response unit since 2020 💥.

I guess what's most concerning is the fact that staff wellbeing has been neglected 🤕... if coroners and other staff members are experiencing vicarious trauma, it's only going to get worse. We need to prioritize their safety and support, not just the survivors of DV 👍.

Umm, I think we need a bigger overhaul of the system 🔄... one that prioritizes women's experiences and listens to their voices. Anything less would be a step in the wrong direction 😐.

I'm so worried about the domestic violence situation in Qld 🤕 they're basically stopping reviews of recent deaths which is just not right. I mean, what if someone else gets hurt because no one was looking? It's like they're taking away a super important tool to try and prevent more deaths. And the fact that staff are feeling un-supported and struggling with vicarious trauma is just heartbreaking 💔. We need to make sure we're doing everything we can to keep our sisters safe 🤗

🚨 I think this is super concerning, you know? It feels like the Queensland government has just kinda given up on making sure they're doing everything they can to prevent domestic violence deaths. The fact that they've stopped reviewing all recent cases and are only focusing on historic ones is crazy to me...like what's happening to those people who need help right now?! 🤕 And it's not like the system was perfect or anything, but I guess you could say they took a step back from trying to improve it. 😒
